I'm undecided on who to pick as my 4th midfielder. I have $367k to spend. I'm leaning towards Trengove at this stage as I haven't seen him in too many other teams. However, Anthony may have a higher scoring potential, but he's probably more risky with injuries. Are there any other mids who I should also be considering? Who do you think???

My current mids are Swan, Boyd, Bartel, D Swallow, Heppell, Mzunga, Savage & Atley.

Cheers

Anthony is cheap as chips for what you might get. IMO he isn't an injury risk...perhaps someone can put up some facts to convince me otherwise.

I would go Trengove. Having a high draft pick always gives you that sense of security tat they wont let you down. He will only get better and will be very unique

Trengove is a 2nd year player. The first rule in DT/SC is never to pick a second year player, unless they're like a Barlow.

I throw you Jack Watts...high draft pick and unique...same club too.
I know what you mean though. ;)

haha ye but watts will take more time as we all know. Honestly when it comes to class players the 2nd year rule does not exist IMO
Not in SC especially

Jack

Any more thoughts on this before I "toss a coin"!!

in terms of risk reward, you go Anthony.

but if your structure is that this position isn't one where you want to take the risk on durability then ...

hope that saves you tossing a coin?

Scully. 2nd year rule doesn't apply to absolute guns, which this man is/will be.

He's no gun yet. Barlow, is the only one that fits into that category!! 2nd year rule does apply IMO.

Just to throw a spanner in the works maybe look at Rory Sloane from the crows really unique will play 22 games and has had a ripping pre season.

Averaged 75 last year and is apparently Craigys love child at the club.

This is his third season at the club also.

I wanted him but i have gone with Brodie Martin over him.

Jack

Yes, I did think of Sloane .... as well as Moles, Sheppard, Rohan, Masten and Shiels. I've already got 3 Crows in my squad and wanted to limit clubs to a "3 max limit" on the number of selections due to byes, so that ruled him out. I also thought that Trengove and Anthony would be more consistent and higher scorers when compared to Sloane and the others that I considered. Happy to hear the views of others on this!!

Thanks for all comments thus far, much appreciated.

Don't go near Moles. He is a turnover merchant, and someone is going to have to make way for Sherman, and Wallis/Libba when they force their way in.

Anthony anyday of the week, second year rule applys.

Anthony is great value for money which is why many teams on this forum have him.
Trengove. Whilst he is a good player at this level and will more than likely become a premium in the next couple of years, he may have less upside this year than Anthony IMO.

But go with your gut Jack.
