When should teams going for Overall be completed by ???
Your going for the Overall and your busily preparing your team and planning out your trades. When should you team be completed by? What are people thoughts on when all rookies (barring 80+ scoring ones) should be traded out?
In one of m0ntys Pre-Season podcasts he said top teams will be completed by
Rnd 8-9. Do you agree with this?

What a great question!

(Except that "do you agree with this?" is a yes/no question, and there are more than 2 options in the poll.)

Technicalities.

I'm guessing that history might show that for top 100 teams, the mid-line is completed by the time suggested. I doubt the whole side is. But as another poster said recently, I could be proved wrong, and have been before!

What I hear is that typically a top side has been completed around / come soon after the half way "rest".

It also bothers me that typical plateau price for rookies a few years back was close enough to reached by around 7 or 8 rounds of actual playing, while the very urgent "suggested completion round" would seem to require about 6/7 premium upgrades working just right during 2/3 rounds.

If a team can achieve that, while also managing the byes and any injuries along the way, they may well deserve to take out the prize.

Who's up for the challenge?

Won't it be different this year tho considering the byes. Like if you have pendlebury you won't want swan till after Collingwoods second bye?

The byes have flown all this into chaos! Agree Pros, great question!

Last year's winner had basically used up all his trades by half way through the year! So I'll say Round 14

Thanks for the feedback guy!
Looking at the Poll, I am going to try to have a completed team by Rnd 11-12. :)
Last season my team was finished til Rnd 16. ::)

Last year's winner had his side finished at round 13...

Round 8-9 seems a bit crazy? I would have thought 11-12 would be ideal

Round 7-9! wow, thats crazy! I would say 'about' half way, I had my team completed by round 16..no wonder i didn't win

I agree....Sometime at the start of the 2nd half of the season.

I think it's easier this year to get a stronger side earlier.
My reasoning is
4 extra trades.
You only need to find an extra 300-350K for 3 extra subs but the top price player has dropped over 100K from last years top price. Average that over your 13-15 starting premiums and you'll end up with more than 300K
