At the moment I have Goddard and Chapman in the midfield as the DPP options...

by doing this it has enabled me to spread my FWD lines and Backlines with alot more depth then by having them in their respective positions.

Has anyone else gone with this option, or is it pointless?

Team as follows

Backs: Gibbs, Deledio, Brougton, Fisher, Grimes, Otten, Heppell

Mids: Swan, Chapman, Goddard, Kennedy, Sherman, Swallow

Rucks: Cox, Petrie

Fwds: Franklin, Reiwoldt, S. Johnson, Pavlich, Higgins, Krakouer, Prestia

Thoughts and feedback......

Chopps

i reckon its pointless by years end if your team is still the structure you will have 6 true mids and i will have 8 with goddard and chappy in back & forward

MiGZ

I think its a very good idea.

I've done the same, but not with Chapman, only Goddard. Goddard is in my mids so i can use him in the backline when needed through the season. Then after round 14 when the saints have their second bye, i will swap Goddard with Heppell in the backline to complete my backline and upgrade Heppell into a gun midfielder for the run home. And if you have someone in the forward similar to Heppell...as you do (Prestia), then you can do the same with Chapman.

No actually the depth in your fwd and back is actually weakened and also your mid-field.
Basically its a lose lose situation all around
Your scoring potential will be hurt significantly.
Im quite happy for you to do it though ;)

Plastic Boy

yeah u say my fwd and backline scoring potential is hindered, however I havent spent as much on 1 player in my fwd and back line, therefore I can actually spend more on those positions to provide more depth...

agree with plastic boy i mean having swan, goddard, chapman and then enother premium but then you can buy players such as gibbs, lake and duffield and then franklin, didiak etc and you will  have premiums all round and using MPP

Just a question Justin Sherman is at about 280k you can upgrade 10k and get martin or something....Whats the thoughts on Justin though?

Plastic Boy

Yeah Martin is a classy midfielder, my reasoning for getting Sherman is he is a lock in the bulldogs 22, and with Cooney, Boyd, Cross etc etc, he'll get minimal attention or a weaker opponent, and the bulldogs use the ball better as well, i think he's in for a big one.

martin is a very classy player and yes very valid point about sherman i may have a look at him now......thanks mate

Plastic Boy

No problems, as a 5th midfielder I think he's great value, He could easily be used upgrade option for someone like Ablett half way though the season as he'll only get better once he fits in with the doggies

dale93

i still thinking i may go martin or scully i dont really mind the 2nd year rule they are gun.......

Plastic Boy

mate both great options...

I'd be wary of Scully, all the trade talk could impact on his performance and team cohesiveness... is that rading into things too much.

Trengrove is the better option imo
