as the topic states whats a trade worth?
points, cash or skipping byes

Jukes

I'd value trades at 150k each

Holz

i mainly double trade and for that i want at least 20 points increase. ie if i downgrade a bench rookie i expect to be able to upgrade a mid pricer/ rookie up at least 20 points.

so 10 points each.

if you tihnk about it that way if you can use about 16 trades on purely upgrading you should be able to score 160 points more than at the start of the season.

nostradamus

thats a hard one to quantify chopps,

l reckon it has to be proportionately linked to judgement and initial choices.....

.....then theres the injury factor and players being "rested"

....not to mention how your team structure is affected by the byes

....l suppose thats why we love this thought provoking/frustrating/awesome bloody game :-\

CLEAR AS MUD  ;)

i realise its hard to quantify, i guess i am wanting to get an idea on what others think like jukes 150 k each i would suggest thats about right when upgrading a rookie i normally look to sell them at 240ish or if they have flattened out in earnings.

thats awesome Holz never though of it like that, always just tried to maximize points never had a figure for it .

other thought this year how many points would you need to cover to justify a trade to miss a bye for that player? ie got a donut in rd say 6 would you trade to save a hundred points, i realise it depends on the player as you would more then likely want that player after the bye

if it came down to a situation where i would have a donut costing me 100 points i would have to make that trade. Thats way too mich to lose in one week

Wes Mantooth

I did a topic on this last year. be buggered if I could find it though.

cheers mate,

just mapped out a few more rules or checklist to trading.

going to be aiming for a gain of 120 k plus from one trade and an increase of 20 points if double trading

its all about timing really

np

it all sounds so easy at the start...

you really should constrict yourself to certain rules, so of the best trades i made all season would have broken all the rules. e.g the move form hitchcock to jpod or upgrading sam mitchell to swan

Who it is is often more important than the price or ppg according to season averages.

I have one main rule on trading - consult the roller coaster every week, and then check previous form and likely future form for both players. Think about who needs to be in your team once you've done upgrading. Check the roller coaster again. List pros and cons for the trade. Look at how many trades you have left. Check how many players you have on STI or bye.

Do all of that again. Repeat until dead.

How many rules was that again?

Does it help to put a price on a trade?

+1 i do the same thing, unless i occationally cash in on a player if he is likely to go down in value and dont see any good upgrades that week.
