I'm still considering not having swan in my team, initially i had swan though he is soooo expensive. Isn't it better to have 2 premiums over a super premium and a mid/cheapie? Should i go without Swan?

elephants

my thinking too. save 100k and and get a player that will average 100+ :D

capped rotations affecting him?

popedelio

Exactly, restricted rotations might affect swan, espeacially beacuse he is the most rotated player

agree, leaves me with a lot of money left over though...

Mish

i'm suprised, so many people have taken a bit of a step back from swan... if you asked anyone on this site a week ago, swan was in every single team!

last two pre-season games are normally closer to what you can expect come rnd 1, unless I see some compelling evidence that Swan's increased TOG will reduce his score he is staying locked and loaded!
No Swan and presumably no Ablett for rnd1 would have been unthinkable last year and though there have been changes you will get what you pay for with these guys.

wait until rd 5 when swans price goes through the roof like ablett's did last yr and everyone who didnt have him was trying to fit in him in when he peaked near 600k  ;D ;D ;D

The rotations may actually help Swan. He has a good tank, and the main reason he gets subbed so much is to upset the other team trying to match up on him.

There was plenty of times I watched Colllingwood play last year, when Swan came to the bench, spent 30sec or so there, then ran back on, leaving a confused tagger on the opposition bench or calling to one of his team mates to match up on Swan cos he could keep up or get back on fast enough

Tenfold

Swan is the best Dream Team player available. You are going to have to get him sometime. Plus Collingwood will rotate him as many times as he wants as he is one of their gun players. Plus the big C next to his name is another reason he is a must

"the no brain..."
guarantee to rack up 100+ in 20/22 games id say with a few 150+ games. his price IS worth it and you will be sad when u see the other team have him and racks it up. might as well have him...

Fair enough, I just didn't like my 4th mid too much so i have now made the change back to swan. Which Mid is stronger?

Mid (with swan)
Swan, Bartel, Kornes, Sidebottom, Bennell, Harris

Mid (without swan)
Bartel, Cross, Krones, Murphy, Bennell, Harris

the one with swan in it. not much of a difference untill you take captain into account.

i'm only new at this DT stuff, but last year not having the best players hurt me.
This time round i'm locking in the best player for each line.
not sure if its a good idea or not, time will tell.

thornz23

i locked in swan, chappy n gods straight away at the start of the year. You gotta take into account that swan will be your captain basically full stop. so if he is averaging 125 and u are looking at a player averaging 100 instead, he is actually going to give u 50 more points per week. i am definitely havin him :)

boo-yaa

the only one i'm worried about is chappy, but i'd imagine he'll start well and put some points on my board.
and if he does get injured you can pick up anyone.
