Nice team with some good uniques (Jamar, Macaffer). I'm really not sold on Laidler, but can't begrudge anyone picking him

Samm79

thanks Ossie. Laidler is pencilled in at this stage, he may go for a rookie which will allow a Chapstick or Sandiman

Side is different but I think it will go well.

Goodes being in the forward line hurts

Samm79

Thanks BJ. any suggestions for a replacement? ???

bjrouse

Isn't Jack going to be used as a tagger this year.
You should know being a Swans fan.

I would downgrade Jack and Upgrade Goodes

Samm79

Jack will be used to shut down players at times this year, as he was last year. He does win a lot of ball, kicks a goal or two and makes a lot of tackles, I expect him to increase his scores by 10-20%. Who do you say to replace Goodes with?!?  ::)

bjrouse

It has to be a premium otherwise your too light.

If you can't afford them you might have to rejig a bit.

Goodes will be ok but won't really improve or get over 100ppg while in the forward line

Samm79

I don't think he will play as much in the forwards as he did last year, it didn't work and Bradshaw is back. I see him spending at least half his time spent in the guts.

bjrouse

time will most certainly tell

Samm79

That it will sir. Goodes killed me last year when up front, there is always the risk Longy will pop him up there with his aging legs. He is a risk, he doesn't miss many games though!

sorry its taken me so long Sam...thanks again for your thoughts on my team

backs: I like Connors, could go alright if Tigers are a lil more successful...dont know enough about Laidler

Mids: Interesting having Lids in there, and Heppell, both could be better served as backs...thus having a stronger backs, and even mids

Rucks: Love Jamar as a Melbourne supporter, but you have to have Sandi!

Fwds: Goodes will be too much forward I think...and Macaffer is interesting, but maybe over-priced

7/10 for now, but I'm sure you've got changes in mind :)

I would bring in green for goodes

Thanks TJ. I have popped both Pav and Del in th mids to give a little MPP balance. When it is time to upgrade and get a prem mid these guys will probably be swapped up in the backs or forwards, but for the first 8 rounds or so they will stay in the mids. Do you think there is there merit in this approach?

Hope Laidler can be an average 80 sort of value proposition, like Waters last year, and if injuries are kind on my he can be upgraded.

Am thinking of taking a risk with Sandi, he is a gun, but doesn't represent value and every one has him. Hope he drops a bit in value and Jamar or someone similar string a couple of good ones together... Not 100% sure I will go this route, but a thought!

Jury is still out on those two forwards too. Will keep an eye out for alternatives. Green is definitely on the radar, thanks gents!

Heaps of uniques, especially in the forward line. Team shows thought but personally I'd have the likes of Sandilands, Pavlich, Chapman and Montagna in my team that are tried and true than a bunch of hopefuls.
