Ablett out for 3

With the big man gone for 3 is he worth trading for Bartel???

Surely it cant be a bad decision to do so....

3 weeks @ 240 points per week is huge to miss out on (Captain)

To trade or not to Trade?????

Keep him!  In a few weeks time when he does return he'll be fresh and ready to dominate again.  Better off taking some low scores rather than trade him out.

Remember half the comp is in the same boat as you, and those who don't have Ablett are probably duds anyway, so what is there to worry about?

Hmmm, am also considering the Ablett -> Bartel trade, but keep resisting on gut feeling...something doesn't feel right with it.

Lets look at it "rationally":

So you bench a 500K player and IF you have the cover then you might lose out on 60ish points a week.  Assuming your replacement captain gets 110 and your bench elevation can score 70 (figures based on my teams averages only - you do the maths on your own)

So is 1 trade (or two if you want to get him back later) now worth 60 points lost for 3-4 weeks (plus a financial gain of  20,700)

Still a hmmmm for me  :-\ It feels like an opportunity to get ahead of the pack by making the right decision - but i don't know what that decision is!!

Certainly is a tough one, making the right choice will get u ahead of the pack like bolasacero said as so many people have him.

I'm looking at a few ideas at the moment (BTW currently got 100k sitting in kitty):

1) Keep Ablett- Saves a trade + plus he should resume where he took off. Negatives are that the groin could be more serious then first thought which would increase injury time from 2-3 to possibly 3+ and once he plays won't get same dt points as before. (Similar to Judd in 2007).

2) Ablett -> Bartel trade. Captaincy goes to him as he should tear it up while Ablett is away. Did it last year anyway.

3) Ablett -> Swan
    Rich -> 404K and below player. These trades would basically complete my midfield and like Bartel, Swan is in fine form and would most likely get the captaincy. Rich to 404K player would give me 5 premium centremen.

I'm focusing just as much on overall ranking as my league(s) so i think an Ablett trade would jump me a few spots as many people will keep him, so atm I'm thinking option 2 or 3.

It's tough, could be a season defining trade (or non trade)...but those are my thoughts atm :)

 i am going to say this again, this decision will make or break your chances,
it helps if you have someone good like i do (LING), on the bench, you save a trade and lose points, what you could do is if you have cash , do a trade to pick up cash, of course thats only if you need cash but if you dont trade a injured player on the bench, then sup for abllet, sure you lose points but you gain a  trade, plus you never know that new player of yours could have a good game.

if ablett was your captain (of course he shood be) you might have a premium such as Corey,Judd,Bartel or a foward in your team what can talk the role as captain.
