Is it just me but is the Herald Sun trying to get everyone to have the same team :-[? Along with the help of contributors to this fine site many teams will be very similar.

It will mean that it is those who trade well will be the ones to move ahead and it will be interesting to see if it is a person who goes for a more unique side will come out the overall winner.

Those of us who study hard to get ahead of the pack are undermined by the HS giving away all the best rookies and smokies. I am in a few FF leagues and hope to help them to the top of the standings but am torn over going with the players I want but don't want the same team as everyone else in our league. Time to find a few uniques. Could be a lot of close matches.
Lets hope that a few differences and good trading will make the difference.
Will most teams be: or similar.
Goodard, Gibbs, Delidio, broughton/grimes , Hibberd, Duigan,Otten, Puoplolo , Toy/Stanley/Coad

Swan, Hodge, XXX, XXX,XXX Mazunga, Harris, Swallow,Wallis, Atley

Sandi Jolly/Petrie Zac, Tippet
Riewolt, Krak, Franklin/Rioli, Pav, Chappy, Callinan, Matera, Smith, Richardson

MightyLions

Honestly, out of those guys, the ones in bold have a chance in getting into my team :). Although rookies up in the air so bolded most of them.

If you have seen a few of my posts (including HP's Uniques), I'm big on having a few common names but also look at other Premiums/outsiders who could possibly be great value. Midfield I'm likely to go for Boyd, Murphy, Pendles and Swallow which should still get me great output!! I have had my eye on Gamble for quite some time and only after this weekend many have noticed him :'(.

Indeed I don't like what HS is doing but they are in the money making business and making it easy to do will attract many to join up. That adds to their advertising and can make even more $$$. But remember, going unique can make the year more interesting but it requires more risk ;).

Are you up to the risk FanFooty? :P.

Spite

Everyone will average 2000 this season. It is going to be whack.

PS...you posted my team above :S

Just bolded the ones I have and I was sad to see how many of them I have :(
In the end though the few of these guys we don't have, and how we use our trades will determine where we finish.
A lot of rookies have just been handed over.
Don't Panic
Regards, Alex.

Well if Kerr is in round 1, then im jumping on him. If he gets anywhere near his best form then i'll be laughing at people who have loaded their teams with rookies who might not play when you need them to. There is going to be so many coaches burned this year because of the bye combined with an injury/omission at the wrong time. depth is more important than having all the best players i believe. i only have 5 rookies. one on each line + Swallow. I'm already lol'ing at the panic Petrie is causing. everyone is going to jump on Bailey in round 1 if he plays. I'll be happy to ignore that and keep Petrie and Keefe, even if neither is playing round 1. I have the depth to cover them. Newman was in the top 6 backs in 2009, but all i'm seeing is Deledio.

Everyone's going to be laughing at you when you choose kerr!

You don't seriously mean lachlan keefe from pies? There's not a chance in the world he'll get a game this year.

Want to bet?

tferrier18

Who's he going to come in for? Barring injury or suspension, there's no reason why keeffe will come into the pies 22.

Everyone's familiar with the jolly/brown set-up, but if one of them went down then cam wood would be in front of him.

Let's say he plays down back...still, who's he going to come out for? Tarrant comes in for Presti which leaves goldsack fighting for a spot, and there's no chance keeffe will get ahead of goldy.

Unless you know something I don't...?

oh f me dead, i forgot about browny...

I still very much doubt there's room for him (yes, even after reading the article on pies site)
