You got lucky.
All you had to do was pick the players you wanted ::)
You would probably be around 150k without that pull. OR less.

I dropped a player for someone else... Who failed.

Very very nice win there BP after looking bad whilst they were batting early.

HillHero13

lost but a good sign is me now rating 153k with plenty of work to do on my team.

It's time once again for the FanFooty Giants Cup Round Up, which as per usual is brought to you by....

For Annoying Weeds....And occasionally Barlow

The Brat Pack vs RED THUNDER
The Brat Pack elected to bowl under overcast skies and were instantly regretting it as THUNDER opener Samuel Flanagan slayed the attack early, taking 34 off the first 4 overs. The Pack soon settled though and while wickets were hard to come by they did manage to restrict the scoring rate. Flanagan was eventually dismissed for 85 and it seemed like the game was swinging back to The Pack but a late order cameo of 47 off 40 balls by wicketkeeper Chisulo Duwa meant the Pack would have to chase a tough total of 7/249. Graham Roberts relished the dry patch and was by far the pick of the bowlers with 3/48 off his 10 overs.
The Pack were immediately in trouble with new opener Marvan Nugawela sent packing for just 10, but Bert Ives lead The Brat Pack's counter attack, almost singlehandly. The Pack number 3 controlled the tempo throughout the innings and when he needed a partner to make a push for victory he found in Captain Shane Gorman. Ives batting for 46 of the Pack's 48 overs en route to 110* in a man of the match performance while Gorman hit 34* off just 28 balls to lead The Pack to victory with 12 balls to spare

champs united v Hillly's Heroics
United won the toss and elected to bat and were led from the start by opener Leigh Gartrell. Gartrell's innings was one of placement and timing as he kept the scoreboard ticking over en route to 136, finding support from John Death's 43 as champs united went onto post a formidible 7/285 off their fifty overs.
It was imperative the Heroics get off to a good start to have any chance but it was not to be, they were never in the hunt as only James Frost and Quinten Bruce offered any resistance to the United attack. When Frost fell for 43 it signalled the beginning of the end as the Heroics collapsed, losing their last 8 wickets for 39 as they crashed to be all out for just 136. Robert Newman was the chief destroyer taking 4/24 although he was ably supported by Ernest Frederick who took 3/20.

DazBurg's Greatness v UNLEASH THE WORLD
Fan Footy's Self Appointed Giant Killers went in in the strange position of being favored to win as they won the toss and batted under overcast skies. Opener Francis Walsh led the way for the Greatness and while his innings was streaky at times and by no means chanceless he still managed to find the middle of the bat more often than the edge as he helped himself to 105. He was ably supported by Frank Crook who proved why he is the Greatness's marquee player with another half century. Once again however the Greatness will think what might have been with another collapse in the later overs, this time losing 5/32 to go from cruising at 2/201 in the 43rd to only posting 7/240 after their 50 overs. Leg Spinner Michael Campestre had a lot to do with that, taking 3/49 off his ten overs.
The UTW batsmen were never in the hunt as they could never get the timing of the Greatness medium pacers quite right. Only opener Marshall Tabart could hold his head high as he carried his bat for  74* as UTW crashed to be all out for 133. Demissie Saitoti was the chief destroyer for the Greatness, taking 4/40 off his ten overs.

Tickle My Timber v super tigers 11
Timber won the toss and fielded first at the Centre of Excellence and immediately piled the pressure on the the super tigers batsmen, the run rate was restricted and wickets fell regularly and no doubt they would've been disappointed with posting a score of just 203. Chris Webster was the only man who got anything going for the tigers as he scored 81 while Tickle My Timber were led by Shaggy Rogers who took 3/33 off his ten overs.
TMT looked like they would win in a canter early as Jack Hogan and Matthew Pretty controlled the tempo nicely but the loss of Pretty's wicket triggered a mini collapse as TMT lost 4/19 to go from 1/61 and cruising to 5/80 and in deep trouble. TMT needed a saving innings and they found it in Phillip Lidgerwood, ably supported by James Johnstone and Dhiresa Paritosh he scored 44 and led TMT to the verge of victory. The drama was not yet over though, the loss of Paritosh sparking another mini collapse, this time 3/1 to leave Timber at 9/198 but Patrick Kortlang was able to hold his nerve as see Tickle My Timber over the line for a one wicket victory.

Roo Boys! v Gooster Markers
The Markers won the toss and elected to bat, a decision that proved to be the wrong one to make. While plenty of Markers batsmen got starts, noone seemed willing to go on with it and make a big score. Wickets fell at regular intervals as the Markers were bowled out for 164 in the 48th over. Captain Rana Naved led the way for his team, taking 4/27 off of 8.1 overs.
While Roo Boys were never in any real danger of losing at any point in their innings they will no doubt be frustrated that so many of their top order failed to go on with the job.  In the end it was left to Wayne Makinson and Gibert McLaughlin to see Roo Boys home, each of them scoring 42* as they led Roo Boys to a 6 wicket win with over 7 overs to spare.

Fletch's No Balls v Pompei Cricket club
No Balls won the toss and batted in energy sapping conditions for all involved. The No Balls were led masterfully by Chris Roy who hit 83* off just 71 balls, ably supported by John Rowley's 69. Nonetheless the No Balls would be more than a little disappointed with 9/285 off their 50 overs considering they were 6/265 with 4 overs left. Michael Holmes led the way for Pompei, taking 4/62 off his 10 overs.
Pompei seemed to be taking the chase in their stride, led by a captains knock by Brahmarasa Thundyil who made 98 off just 93 deliveries. However as the run rate got tight Pompei panicked and crumbled in the later overs. Unbelievably they still had a chance for victory when it came down to the final ball with Pompei needed 2 for victory but when Kamalakara Kumble couldn't make contact with Samuel Breman's sandshoe crusher the umpire had no hesitation adjudging him LBW to get the No Balls out of jail and away with a one run victory.

John Howard's Coathangers v AchmidsSoul
The Coathangers won the toss and elected to bowl, no doubt hoping the windy conditions would help their three pronged spin attack. The Coathangers didn't back on William Vaughton however, the Soul number 3 flayed the Coathangers attack to all corners of the ground en route to 128, finding able support from Troy Norquay who chipped in with 42 as they helped the Soul post a testing 6/244 off their 50 overs. Marco Francese was the only bowler who seemed comfortable in the conditions for the Coathangers, he ended up with figures of 3/49.
The Coathangers looked comfortable for a long time as Washington Msipha and Mohammed Abdul-Wahad controlled the tempo, even surviving the bump of Abdul-Wahad's dismissal as Christian Peterson settled into the role of Msipha's support. When Msipha fell however it triggered a monumental collapse, the Coathangers lost their last 6 wickets for just 31 as they fell agonizingly short, bowled out in the final over for 242. Ranjit Ingram was the pick of the bowlers, he took 3/46 including the key wicket of Msipha. The Coathangers left to rue what might have been and taking the uneviable label of the Jurassic Sparks weak link.

Hello v North Wiggy CC
North Wiggy won the toss and batted under cloudy skies  and were led by Captain Jason Maloney. Maloney led the scoring with 74, ably supported by William Fisher's 44 as late order hitting helped North Wiggy post a tricky target of 8/238 off of their 50 overs.
Hello got off to a disastrous start with both Habib and Carney back in the sheds with the score reading 21 but Collis Jeffers settled the innings for Hello, finding a willing partner in Captain Brad Allen as the pair put on 111 for the 5th wicket to lead Hello to the verge of victory. Jeffers would finish with 88 and Allen would finish with 69 as Hello eventually escaped with a four wicket victory with just one ball to spare.

Front Foot Fury v Gunz n Rozez
Gunz n Rozez were sent in and immediately made the Fury pay for that choice as they treated the Fury seam attack with disdain. While the score of 5/303 was massive Gunz n Rozez will also rue missed opportunites with 3 batsmen making half centuries without one converting for a big one. Opener Sanjay Manohari and Jack McCormack led the scoring with 79 whilst Eric Lucas chipped in 52. Dharma Palanirajan was the only Fury bowler able to keep his head held high, he took 4/49 off his 10 overs.
If the Fury were looking to win the match they sure didn't show it, after falling to 3/62 early the Fury seemed content to just bat out time, ambling along to finish 6/236 off their 50 overs. Henry Prentice led the way with 105, supported along the way by Robyn Wilson's 56. Gunz n Rozez were always comfortable though and ran out easy 67 run winners.

Frankston XI v 11PUNJABI
Frankston won the toss and elected to field as they looked for revenge after being humbled by the Greatness last week and it was a focused side that took the field. Only John Jack and some late order hitting by Doraisvami Setna gave Punjabi any respectability to their total as they were bundled out for 175. Hunter Dickson leading the way for Frankston with 3/35.
Despite the loss of two early wickets the chase was never in doubt as Simon Parsonage led the way with 66* as Frankston cruised to their target and a 6 wicket victory with more than 8 overs to spare.

bombersXI v The Matchbox Matadors
Finally to the only FanFooty showdown of the week. Bombers sent the Matadors into bat and put together a solid bowling performance. The Matadors would have to be disappointed as so many of their batsmen got starts but only Robert Deem turned into something remotely worthwhile as he finished with 52 as the Matadors crashed to be all out for 200 in the 47th over. Wickets were spread but Tunde Harding did well to take 3/42 from his 10 overs.
The Matadors hopes for victory were quickly dashed as openers William Carter and Eric Bowstreet put on an 130 run opening stand. Carter would finish with 84, Bowstreet 65 as the Bombers cruised to a 7 wicket win with more than 16 overs to spare. The Matadors learning a harsh lesson, that sometimes you get the bull and sometimes the bull gets you

Great writeup again BP. :)

I'm pissed off with my team. Only Msipha played well, and I'm disappointed he went out when he did.

Gecko's done nothing special since moving down the order.

Justin Bieber

Mighty fine write-up again BP!! :).

I was very lucky for the escape act after my batsman failed once again -_-.

8-6 Suited

Freddy losing is sooo damn good. :D Hopefully I can take over #1 in the Predictor thread haha :P

Boomz

Is it bad that I agree even though he's on the same team as me? :P
