Giants Cup Week 2 discussion thread

It's week 2 of the Giants Cup and the excitement is building as a dry pitch greets the FFers today. Time to see how we all shape up

The Brat Pack vs RED THUNDER
This is a tight match, I do shade him by about 3k on ratings, which as we've seen in the past is nothing, the addition of Nugawela might just bump my ratings enough to get over the line here, hoping for a big innings in his first game in Pack colors.
FF Win?: Toss-Up but it is advantage Pack

champs united vs Hilllly Heroics
Another tight match, the captains have chosen well. Hilly's a little behind though when it comes to ratings. But his main weapon is Spin. But champs has strong spinners as well. It may come down to who takes advantage to win.
FF Win?: Unlikely

UNLEASH THE WORLD vs DazBurg's Greatness
FF's Self Appointed Giant Killer.....playing from the position of favorite? How is Daz's team going to cope with going into a game where they're actually favored to win for a change? I can't really see Daz having many problems here, his experienced players should be too much for UTW to handle.
FF Win?: Chalk one up for the Wizards and FF here.

super tigers 11 vs Tickle My Timber
Shaggy's team, sponsored by "No Country for Old Men" go into battle with the side that defeated me last week and it's a tough challenge even for him. Tactics are going to have to win out for Shaggy to get over the line. But it's a tough ask.
FF Win?: If anyone can overcome with tactics it's Shaggy, but it's still unlikely.

Roo Boys! vs Gooster Markers
Tight match, probably tighter than R&B wants. In the end I think R&B's bowlers put him over the line, but his middle order is going to have to stand up and be counted.
FF Win?: Yes.....just.

Pompei Cricket club vs Fletch's No Balls
Fletch has shown massive improvement over the season and his spinning core is a match for anyone. Pompei's guy however is more than a match and in fact might be better, on the dry pitch it may come down to which one of them performs to decide who takes home the point.
FF Win?: Fletch does just shade him in the ratings so on paper he should win.

John Howard's Coathangers vs AchmidSouls
ML needs a win to really avoid being labelled as the Sparks "Weak Link" and he'll never get a better shot than today. His ratings are better, his spinners are better, he should bring it home.
FF Win?: Bank it

Hello vs North Wiggy CC
HP has followed his building up strategy to the hilt despite being surpassed in ratings by more than a few and he comes in favorite here. I don't think North Wiggy has a spinner that can trouble HP's lineup, brittle as it may be and thus HP should come away with the duke.
FF Win?: Yep

Front Foot Fury vs Gunz and Rozez
It shouldn't really be a contest. BOOMZ has him well covered in ratings, but if there's one thing a U/19 NAT assistant should know, it's tactics so BOOMZ may not be the lay down misere everyone thinks.
FF Win?: He still SHOULD win though.

Frankston XI vs 11PUNJABI
GS has to repair wounded pride after losing his FF undefeated streak to FF's Self Appointed Giant Killer last week. There's no doubt he has a strong side, there's no doubt he's heavily favored to win, they picked up confidence by beating Barlow mid week. But is their swagger missing now that they've been proven vulnerable?
FF Win?: The answer to that question is "No" thus GS should easily see off his opponent here.

And with all the FanFooty players, it's hard to believe there's only one FF battle this week. The final game.

bombersXI vs The Matchbox Matadors
BB has really put together a formidable line up but he still has glaring holes in his middle order and the pitch will suit the Matadors spin attack, in the end though I think it may just be too big of a mountain to climb for CF in this one, he does have the right attack on the right pitch to win but he's going to need all the cards to fall his way. I just don't see it happening
Winner: BB banks a point for the Gladiators. Where's Vulkan when you need him?
