i know its early to jump the gun but I'm just keen to see what the coaches think about this. We have seen them for a bit in the NAB cup, who would u pick and why?

Zarts

I don't know, just have to wait and see.  Gamble destroyed his first 2 games of NAB, while krak didn't perform up to scratch. However, Krak does have mpp eligibility.

if krak picks up and gamble maintains, why not both?

Stirling

hey im also looking at gamble now after his nab cup first 2 games however i think it might just have been a fluke id wait and see how they both go later before making a decision atm though put the most expensive one in your team so that if u decide to change to the other one it will free up some cash.

Remember he won't kick bags of goals every game.  ;)

Not really considering at this stage.

Gamble is a sure thing....
Lets break it down......

Reiwoldt and Kozi to come back into FWD line, and potentially Gilbert... therefore Gamble will get the 4th best def.. prob a hack.  He showed us the other night he can mark and goal.  I can see this kid actually getting a chance, which is why they got him, and no doubt he'll score around 50-70 per game, which is great for that price.

Krakouer.... has never ever once in his AFL career done anything remotely good, DT wise.  He has proved to us once again during the NAB cup he doesnt have it at AFL level... sure WAFL and prison footy he's great, but not AFL.... its all hype.

Also I doubt he'll play round 1, he has had a restricted fitness regime as all the pies went to the US except him..  They'll build his fitness and confidence up in the VFL for atleast 6-7 rounds before releasing him into the AFL.

Gamble will play from round 1... Krakouer round 8....

Jimbo_11

gambles scoring will go down with roo back in the team
so i dont think he will be that great

Plastic Boy

The defence will always go straight for Roo when the ball is being delivered into the FWd line, so Gamble should get plenty of space and a small amount of attention

I dont think you understand, yes gamble might take the 4th def, but he also will get no where near as much ball coming his way, as the saints midfielders will be targeting roo and kozi, leaving gamble with far less possesions and goals

reesbr

Krakouer will play round 1.

I dont know what you guys are thinking

Plastic Boy

and who out of the grand final will make way for Krakouer, do you think he has this much skill to just walk into a premiership side and get a round 1 berth...???

As for Gamble, well of course he'll be a target when Roo has 2-3 hanging off him and Gamble is sitting alone in the Fwd line

Wow, 4 uneventful years of DT misery. And about an hour DT hysteria.

And now you think his God's gift to your team. >:(

FINALLY, A PERSON WITH SOME SENSE!!
i finished top 500 last year and think i have a fair idea about DT, Gamble will not be anywhere near as good as you guys are expecting!
Keak on the other hand has performed extremely well in the intra club games and we all know about malthouses revolving door, showing that he sticks with players for a good 6-8 games, the exact amount of time krak will need to peak in price.

RAFA

yep! swansong is dead right imo

Gamble struggled to break into Geelong's 22 - I'm not sure how you can star when you are getting games inconsistently. Won Geelong's VFL B&F last year. Ross Lyon has said previously that Gamble will play an important role in the restructured Saints forward line. He scored pretty well in the NAB cup games last night. However, his performances at Geelong weren't overly impressive - didn't really apply defensive pressure, one of the reasons he was dropped from their side.

Krakouer was at Richmond from 2001 to 2009 and his scoring was as lacklustre as it was in the NAB cup games. You say he performed extremely well in the intraclub games. How much does that matter? Surely you can read more into preseason games (though round 1 is laughable) than the intraclubs. Add to this the fact that Collingwood are the reigning premiers, the 22 is going to be difficult to break into.

I'm not a massive fan of either but I hate it when people say this or that player will be terrible without saying why they think it.

I like Gamble :D. He is a risk nonetheless. Saints like playing defensive but as stated before Roo and Kosi are their main targets. Although Milne plays a good crumber and Gamble can play the other pocket and hopefully if Roo gets the double team, could leave him as the back up target. It's tough to tell but I like his potential to be a good cash cow without being completely dominant. He was brought in to fill the forward pocket role void.

Krak was brought in to help the midfield depth or to replace Davis in the forward pocket (apparently they tried him down back? Didn't watch the game but heard it). He's never been a great DT player like Jack said. WAFL is a completely different level to the AFL. Not sure how he'll fit in at this stage but have to wait until round 1 teams are announced. My theory is he was brought in to just stop him from going to the Weagles.

P.S Got a spare minute, Go over to the FF Personality Of The Year thread and cast your votes!!! Don't like the canidates, nominate yourself! All are welcomed. Might add you don't have to vote for me as there are many worthy canidates for votes. Vote for Bomberboy!!!
