hey dt'ers have'nt heard any mention about gia and very little about gilbee and carrots. anyone have opinions about these guy? gilbee and carrots both mpp's

hardnut

Gia will drive you nuts but seems to rack in the odd blinder to keep a decent average - don't expect any change there.

Gilbee had a poor 2010 (I had him so I know) so worth monitoring but like Gia can go missing especially when the dogs aren't winning.

Carrots is a gun midfielder that Ratten uses as a tagger, didn't understand why last year. Watch pre-season to get a feel for how he get used but too many other good bck/mids imo.

yorgis

don'y u think gilbee might be more of a go to man; being such a good deliverer of the ball, now that harbrow has gone, and hargeave and lake both coming back from injury and operations ?

hardnut

My concern in that case is he's an obvious choice for the now popular forward tag, I've had him last 2 years so I'm a fan but he's probably an SC choice. Needs to get back to kicking the odd goal too.

yorgis

point taken thanx hardnut. what about gia?

Would you go Higgins instead of GIA??

I have him in my squad atm but not 100% sure yet!

Towards the end of last year Gilbee was copping the dreaded forward tag. He didnt score too well when that happened.  Out of those 3 I would go Carrots, at least he tags in the midfield so he still gets a bit of the ball.

fattony

gia's scores go up and down more often than a rollercoaster. big NO.

Bluke

If the dogs hadn't added Sherman I would have said Gia looks good. I think Sherman will eat alot of the midfield time Gia was due for with the retirement of some of the other doggies.

Had Gia last year and he cost me the grand final by 10 points. So I won't be picking him again for that reason.

Carrots is good when he isn't forced to tag. Wait and see if Ratten lines him up in that role again. If he isnt tagging he is a steal imo.

Gia will frustrate the hell out of you. has the biggest standard deviation, cause when the dogs play keeping off he rips 150+, but then goes missing.

from what i learnt last year, if boyd goes down trade in GIA and lock him as captain.

I have to agree.  When Gia played 2 full games in the midfield early in the year he racked up big numbers (154 & 142).

Holz

If Gia played in the midfield permanently he could be beter than swan and bartel combined

+1 - and for that reason, possible upgrade target ...
