Hey All,
doing a bit of editing in my back line atm for SC

which consists of Gibbs, deledio, enright, gilbert, ottens, duffield and heppel ( puopolo, toy & duigan)

im debating who is better value atm

Corey Enright - $477,500 - avg: 98.1
                   VS
Jack Grimes - $428,200 - avg: 88.0

grimes is looking good in the preseason and is a good 50K cheaper, however enright is a proven performer?

any thoughts at all as to who should i pick ?

Grimes IMO!

Because it's your third defender, i'd say Enright. I don't think there'll be much difference in scoring between them, so it comes down to fitness.

I doubt Grimes will be fit for the entire season, in fact he'll probably only last for 16 or so games. Everyone knows how precious trades are, and you really don't want to have to be trading out your third best defender.

If the choice was for gilbert's spot...i'd easily say Grimes

edit: Grimes is a risk, not a keeper (maybe a risky keeper lol). Enright is a keeper. Your 3rd spot in any position should be filled by a keeper.

yeah you guys all bring up good points, enright is more conditioned i guess, im just unsure if his score will still stay the same if geelongs game tactic changes at all.

lets say i was to throw heath scotland into the mix as a unique backline player? do you guys have any thoughts there to?

tferrier18

heath scotland is a fu**ing gun, breaks my heart watching him knowing he was once at the pies.

He is getting on though, he'll be 31 in 5 months although he played 22 games last year and increased his avg by 1 point so I guess he isn't showing any signs of slowing.

I guess one positive with heaths scotland is, if you're going for overall win, he doesn't have a bye in r 5 or 6 unlike grimes/enright. They'll probably all score quite the same. Enright to play most games, followed by scotland then grimes.

Depends how many players you have out in round 6, but I'm still sticking with Enright as your 3rd defender...but try and get Grimesy in there - he's a fantastic player with great composure.

Tferrier, I don't think watching anyone play for Carlton should break your heart. Good player in an average side, as reigner Premier your heart should be happy, healthy and full of pride.

I have traded from Enright to Grimes, risk sure, but upside is high.

BlueStorm

Tick from me.

Grimes seems primed for that break out year - maybe 20 games of solid performance. That makes him a lock for Capt for the Dees in the near future. I know that doesn't affect SC scores, but very happy picking him at that price.

I suspect a few Cats will start at smaller prices for the start of next year, if they are still about...

Don't worry, I'm more than happy...we've got heath shaw and harry rebounding off hb anyway, so it's not like we're missing out

Brad Scott

enright to the end of last year was getting tagged out of game much like heath shaw was..

Grimes is young on the way up and plays on at almost every kick in!

Cheaper and i think will out score the more mature enright!..

but thats just my opinion..

Adz23

its a tough call cause it could go any which way really
i think i end up deciding on  holding out on enright based on not knowing how geelong will pan out, so ive replaced him with heath scotland more so cus there is onli 4 points diff between them on the average and also scotland is a MPP n will get time through the midfield

also changed sam gilbert up for jack grimes, bit of a risk.. but ive got 43K sitting in the bank, so its a easy change up if things go down hill

new backline: Gibbs, deledio, scotland, duffield, grimes, otten, heppell ( puopolo, toy, and dugian)

Gooner

IMO:

Grimes will outscore Enright in terms of average, Enright will play more games and outscore Grimes in terms of total points.

+1 Grimes has plenty of upside in him, whilst Enright has hit his peak, and is slowly beginning to decline. Although he can never be written off for his consistency.

Also, don't forget the bye in Rd 22 for Enright.

HotTiges

Both will avg similar. Enright for consistency but will get tagged now. Grimes may get tagged later on too but seems like he can get t he bigger scores..

i think grimes is a star, but enright is fantastic as well, i think u should get both and get rid of duffield
