who do you think will score more in 2011?

is pendles the better option because of murphy's bye in the finals?

Usman

I see these two as very similar players, i cant split them Pendles in a better side but maybe Murphy has more upside as his team could win a couple more games this year. Cant go wrong with either but i went with pendlebury just because of the bye.

In detail (stats from 2010)

Possesions   Contested   Tackles   Clearences   I50   Goals   Goal Assits   Score Assists
Pendlebury       26.6            9.4          5.5          3.8         3.6    17         17               30
Murphy            25.5            9.8          4.5          4.4         4.4    19         19               20

Just try and split them

Nice stats Usman!! They are sure very similar but are very effective by foot making both great picks for SC if you bypass Judd and Swan (maybe not if you don't mind having both from a team).

I am unbiased as I'm more likely than not going to be jumping on both to start as they both should improve this season :D. They are very consistent and don't think you could possibly go wrong either way.

P.S Got a spare minute, Go over to the FF Personality Of The Year thread and cast your votes!!! Pretty sure you have 4 votes so why not? Don't like the canidates, nominate yourself! All are welcomed. Might add you don't have to vote for me as there are many worthy canidates for votes. Vote for Bomberboy please :).

I went with Pendles cos of Carlton prelim finals bye ... good stats Usman

yeh i was thinking pendles coz of murphy's bye but i also have swan so the 2 negatives are:

murphy has a finals bye

if i have pendles i will have 2 collingwood players in my midfield!

I currently have Judd, Murphy and Pendlebury.
Murph and Pendles are just as good as eachother, I think Swana and Judd will be just as good as eachother this season.
You shouldnt worry about having two premium midfielders from Collingwood, they are the new Geelong or the past few years.  I remember having Ablett, Bartel and Selwood at one stage, with Chapman down forward.
Collingwood will win enough games and smash a lot of teams so having Pendles and Swanny is more beneficial than having two players from another team

Unlike past years, there are byes to contend with.

True.
I think people are looking too far into the whole byes thing.  To not get Marc Murphy because he's got a bye in the prelim finals is a bit silly, surely you would just ride his consistantly good scores all season and trade him out for the bye in rd 23

Good point HP just something ive found though is Pendlebury handballed more than kicked for the first time ever in his career last year, this is no doubt due to the extra attention he gets from taggers now. Pendlebury's efficincy was also down to the lowest of his career at 63.7% well below previous years were he has hovered around the low to mid 70's. Murphy's efficiency has been mid to high 60's all the way through his career but when he started getting tagged heavily in 09 his efficiency didnt drop and his disposal count has only risen. Look into it what you will but both should proabably increase their kicking effieincies this year as heavy tag's may decrease due to the interchange rule (aswell as natural improvement). Looking back on this comment i dont even know what im trying to establish lol, hopefully someone can get something out of it.

They both have room to improve efficency = Scores? Either way, pretty decent kicking ability by both, even when they did get a little attention over last year.

Still some good stats to hopefully get a few more Murphy/Pendle Lovers out there 8).
