Am I a fool for not starting with Swan?

Is Swan really worth his $511k price tag? I'd just like opinions, because if I go unique and don't start with Swan and he has a slow start to the year, it could turn wonders for my team (I'm going for the league win).

With Boyd/Goddard/Bartel/Pendlebury in my midfield I have plenty of captaincy options, what do you guys think? Maybe Primus will chuck Kornes on to tag Swan for round 1, something Choco never did.

i dont have swan either

imo he's a tad overpriced and his scores wont be as high this year because of the sub rule, therefore im planning on upgrading to him later on in the season, circa rnd 14 after collingwood's 2nd bye

I didnt have him last year, what a mistake that was. But if there was a year not to get swanny it would be with the introduction of the sub rule. But im having him, even if he is overprice hes a sure thing for top 10 mids this year barring injury.

The team I had him in last year did much better than the team I didnt have him in. (sc v dt)

i think the same argument happened with ablett last yr, especially after he ripped the swans to shreds in rd 6 or so and everyone who didnt have him was crying whlie those who did were laughing.

if you dont have swan you need goddard IMO. either has to be your captain

yes, they're playing Port 1st up, if you don't have you'll miss out on him as he'll probably blitz it against us... predicting 150 dt points from him round 1!

with the new interchange rules coming in it could work to his advantage by kicking more goals this season when he shifts forward for a breather
so i'm lock and loaded with the Swan

If you don't have Swan, then yes sir you are a fool.

But at least you have Boyd and Goddard.
