Are Subs "playing" the Game.

Lets say a player x is set as a sub by a team, and they are not used for the game. They sit on the bench the entire game and are giving 0 SC points.

Would this 0 affect their average / price? And did their games played just go up by 1?

If they aren't subbed on I would imagine it doesn't count as a match played and therefore wouldn't count toward their SC average. I would also imagine that you could potentially have an SC sub replace them since it doesn't count as them playing.

I haven't read anything official on the matter, but the sub is named separately from the "playing" list when teams are lodged.

^ Agree hawk

I think subs will always play though, even if for the last 5 minutes, but it is a good point.

I don't think they will count unless they've stepped onto the ground.

The way it worked last season was if a player was in the starting 22 before the match, he was counted as playing. I don't think subs will be considered starting

reconfig

I would think it very rare that a sub not be used at some point in the game

hawk_88

Things would have to be going VERY well for a sub not to be used. Either that or a sub gets injured warming up.

Can't see it happening much if at all but in the case that it does, I think what I wrote above would be accurate.

read an article on chappy and it would appear the cats may be looking at using the sub in the mids to give the likes of chappy, corey ect a rest if the games in the bag.

this sub rule could potentially hurt especially coming into finals ( aka ross lyon )

tferrier18

Shiiet, didn't think of the rule being used that way...that'd really Piss you off

hawk_88

Players have been put on ice before, often more than one. I doubt this will change that super much.

I agree Hawk. Although it would be terrible annoying if say Saints played Brisbane and Goddard (C) was subbed off due to a big lead at half time :-|

We will deal though :P
