Boomer is one ive had the last 2 years...
Age dosnt bother me think he is an exception to the rule.

Doesn't hurt to wait. Pure forwards almost NEVER get more expensive. Actually, apart from chappy, I don't think any kind does.

Different question --> new thread please!

The original post asked if anyone else had similar feelings toward other "guns".

All this negativity towards Buddy is great, means he will almost be a unique.
Im expecting him to have a great year, there is a recent article about Clarkson wanting the whole team to curb the unsociable behaivour (FA) so hopefully Buddy will take this onboard and stop giving away so many frees.

He managed to play 17 round last year, average of 107 lowest score of 79, high score 159

Very hopeful  :P

Buddy was a bargain price last year, and didn't disappoint. He averaged 100 fcol. Yes, he missed a few games, but not for an extended period of time, so cover was always around.

This year he is locked in my team again. IMO, was the best key forward last year, and would have won the Coleman IMO had he played all 22 matches.

yeah totally, he is a definite lock for me!

And a little note, look at his last 4 rounds during the supercoach finals.

Im excited to see what he brings to the table this year!

I have never not picked Higgins, I seem to have it stuck in my mind that he will break out this season :P
I have never been able to pick Gilbee, don't have a clue why I suppose I always found a better option.

Last year was the only year I didn't pick Higgins, Went for Gia instead. But Higgins will stay fit this year and dominate. [bias]

As for Buddy, I have him my team and I have always picked him because of his massive scores. But I am thinking about switching him for Rioli. Cheaper also.

Side Note Hawthorn play the Dogs in round 10 and 23. Buddy's lowest scores where against Brian Lake.

Another side note: He plays GC rd24.. Yummy

You can but you don't want to!  And that mindset is warranted.  He averages 3FA per game and has always had issues with discipline.  I think he's a real smoky for the Brownlow this year, and if Hawthorn use him like I think they will this year (Richo's last 2 years at Richmond) he could destroy teams every week.  He's got the ability to be the best wingman in the AFL, but whether he's got the tank is a query.  Also, if he's used up the ground, will his goals output decrease and if it does, will his increased possession and marks offset that?  He's an enigma, no doubt about it.  It's a real coin flip...If you're a gambler, I'd take him and if you're conservative, probably not.  The issue is that if he starts well, he might be too expensive to bring in, but conversely, if he starts slowly, he's a great bargain premium at rounds 6-7.  Confused yet??

3FA a game and still averages over a 100. That's a lot of upside IMO.

The thing with forwards you have to look at who else to pick. Like last year, the forward line is a bit thin.

You have the ageing Chapman, Harvey, Goodes, Pavlich, Green, O'Keefe and Brown.

Jack Riewoldt and Barry Hall had great years last year, but didn't score high. Can they back it up again?

Really, its gotta be Franklin and Nick Riewoldt locks. The others all have downsides!

Other upside players IMO are Rioli, Daisy, McGlynn and Sidebottom.

Daisy and sidebottom are only mids...which has devestated my team.

Oh right, they are to :)

Was never going to pick 'em, so didn't try! My bad

He does get the rough end of the stick from the umps. Apparently the Hawks met with the umps about it late last year so fingers crossed that lessens.
