With all the unknowns of the cats...what are ppls thoughts?

I would say "Chappy". I would start with him so you wouldn't waste a trade to get him into your side in the middle of the season. Absolute gun.

elephants

he is a gun and he will give you great scores, although i dont think he will live up to his price tag this year.

will avg over 100 must have imo... if he goes down with an injury u can get anyone...

Chopps

+1  he wont issapoint.. and yes, even if he goes down with injury, you can just go and swap in the next best performing fwd.

Is anyone worried about the loss of ablett and the quite old superstars of gellong. for me i dont really care about his injury risk its just wether he can keep his 110+ average up.

Slap

i am not worried.  It might not be 110, but it will be good.  He copped tags last year (because ablett was 'untaggable' and averaged 110..  I do not think that will be a problem.  He is a star player and star players push through no matter what the team is doing.  I predict he will still be in the upper echelon of forward picks this year.

yorgis

i don' think the 'ol chappy worries too much about tags.with HIS average even if he misses the odd game or two it would be much better than most. if his form does drop for whatever reason u can trade him for anybody in the comp

Holz

i currently have him as i paid 100k to turn PAV into him. I just hope his average is 10 points above PAV or it was  bad decision

100k =20ish points. I think he is overpriced. Expect a tag, expect an injury. He is 29, all hammy injurys will be 4 weeks now. He has a kicking style that prone to pinging a hammy. GAJ always took the number one tag and a midfield reshuffle will see Chappys scores suffer one way or another. That would make him an upgrade target, not a starter.

I know he is a crowd and fanfooty favourite but if Im spending 450+ on a player I dont want to have to worry about trading him, ever. Count me out this year.

I read all the reports last year and didn't take him because of his apparent injury worries.  He then plays 21 games and averages 113.  Doh.

He's in my team this year.  I reckon he learnt to manage his body and ongoing preapration last year - and remember his worst turnout in terms of games played was 16 games in 2007.

He's a gun, he's in a good side that has a bit of rebuilding going on, but they'll play finals footy.  He's the kinda guy that wont let his contribution slip in this scenario imo.  Scott will rely on him.

In your team?  Up to you.  I got him.

.

I dont know about 100k being 20 points. I have 100k to spend and i cant really see a way of improving my team more than PAV to chappy, for example anthony to Montagna i see as less of a point differential. And changing a rookie to someone in the low 200s is unlikely to get you more than 10 points difference

BU1101

Holz, I meant in terms of the magic number. 4.4ish isnt it? Using that the prices are worked out for the new season based on last years averages. That means at the start of the year, Pav and Chappy are 100k apart because of a 20ish point difference in average at the end of last year.

I dont think Chappy will average 20 more than pav this year or 10 more than anyone else in the forward line. Not worth it.
