Would you go:
> 4 premiums/2 rookies
> 3 premiums/1 mid price (<400k)/2 rookies
> 3 premiums/3 rookies
or other.

You could almost go 2/4 this year. There are so many rookies to choose from this year. But there are a lot mid price players that could do well.

People say that every year. In fact this year is probably the year you can least afford to do this and that's because there are so many options all over the ground (heppell, jacbos, hibberd, toy for backs and mzungu, smith, lamb and prestia for your fwds).

I didn't start any fwd or back rookies last year because at r1 there were no options, unlike this year. There's always options in the mids, but this year there's options all over so you should really only be starting 2 mid rookies so you can take advantage of starting back/fwd rookies.

To answer your question: 4/0/2 is a very strong and safe structure but if you choose to go with 3/1/2 in order to upgrade a fwd then do what you feel more comfortable with. Both have advantages and disadvantages and really, neither is better than the other...as long as your money is being spent!

Currently I'm on 3/0/3 with Swallow, Gaff & Harris as my starting rookies, but with Swan, Judd and J Selwood as my 3 starting premiums. Wanted to be a bit different this year :)

pyronerd

3/1/2 for me atm, with foley as the mid pricer

Hydra,

Technically you're 3/1/2 since Harris isn't a rookie

Which is even better.

tferrier18

But i guess it depends on which way you're looking at it...

If you look at rookies in terms of playing games and the risk associated with how well they'll score then Harris isn't a rookie.

But if you look at rookies in terms of structure/price and how many upgrades you'll need to do, then Harris is a rookie

Boomz

3/1/2 is the way to go imo... it's how mine is atm but it depends what u classify Harris as...

tferrier18

is yours 3/1/2 with harris classified as a rookie or mid pricer boomz?

I'd classify Harris as a cheapie not a rookie

Boomz

Harris as a rookie in mine basing it on price...

stewfoss

right now, i'v got 2/1/3 in mid and 5/0/2 and 4/2/1 in bac/fwd
i dont know about that though. im stuck between that and the more balanced structure

tigertops

im at 3/0/3 with harris as a rookie...
had foley but swapped him with harris   (they will prob score similar anyway so i think use the 240k elsewhere)....???
