Monfries is moiving into the midfield under Hird and has improved his fitness over the summer.

i've read that he was an on baller growing up. obviously not a big enough body for inside work at AFL level but knew how to find it apparently. too much of an awkward price unless he brings up big numbers. potential tho, 357k! so its a no there and no guarantee he'll rotate thru midfield. from bombers POV its a good move to get these types more versatile as we need to as we don't have many 'specialists' atm. if he was in the 200 -300 i might be swayed but 357k leaves not enough upside and u would not anticipate gus to be a keeper. hope he has a good year tho, might show us the strings in his bow this year, hirdy could really bring the best out of some of the dons within next few years
