My (Somewhat) Interesting Team!

Before looking at the team, here are a few important things you should note:

  • Jacobs, Fraser ruck, WTF? - This will probably spark the most attention.  My reasoning for doing this is to allow beefier upgrades in other areas.  However I will be checking how both Jacobs and Fraser go in the NAB Cup, as I'd be relying on them improving their scores somewhat.
  • Two Collingwood Midfielders - This is my biggest worry, as I don't know how I'll go during Collingwood's bye (rd7 and 13 I think) as I'll be losing perhaps 250+ points and regaining an unknown amount based on how Rookie's perform.  I considered Didak instead of Thomas so that he can switch with Chapman/Sylvia in the Forward line, but that would still cause me to  have two benched Collingwood players in the FWD, and I think Thomas will give a bigger return than Didak.
  • Last of all, I believe Fraser should greatly improve his current value whilst being the #1 Ruckman at Gold Coast, but that's yet to be proven.
  • Bench places are subject to change when lists are released for first round

Here's my current team:

Backs: B Goddard, B Gibbs, D Connors, G Broughton, J Grimes, N Suban, A Otten, <D Heppell, M Watson, L Delaney>

Mids: D Swan, J Bartel, L Hodge, D Thomas, D Swallow, T Houlihan, <D Harris, S Atley, M Wallis>

Rucks: S Jacobs, J Fraser, <D Hale, R Campbell>

Forwards: P Chapman, L Franklin, C Sylvia, C Knights, D Petrie, P Veszpremi, A Krakouer, <D Prestia, J Darling, I Callinan>

Cash: $42,500

Definitely watch the NAB cup with your rucks... Very different. Could spell success though.

There have been comments that Walker will play a more goal focused role with adelaide this year *walker knights* dont personally like Walker because he hit on my girlfriend, however i think he can score well.

I agree with Bartel needing to fire with ablett gone. The same could be said for Selwood.

Regarding your rookies. They will obviously change after NAB but Gaff comes from my junior club. The kid can play. Has a huge tank. He will most likely play round 1. At least thats what my brother tells me. Mzungu also gives you some versatility with MID-FWD swap.

Scotch

Will definitely consider Gaff and Mzungu.

I had Mzungu originally but removed him due to too many Fremantle players.  This was before my cunning plan of removing Sandilands though :).

LF

back/mid player would be good in your mids to enable you to bring godd or gibbs into you midfield if neccesary. hibberd or heppell seem to be popular options

Thanks for that luvfooty, I've moved Heppell into the midfield for Mitch Wallis, and put Puopolo into the backline.

Updated Team:

like the mids.

had suban in my backs also, but swapped him out. will keep an eye on him early season to see how he's going.

i think your forwads a bit hit 'n' miss. a lot of those guys that can tear apart a game , or do bugger all. looks like a froward line that will either win you or lose you the game each week.

I assume you're referring to the Chapman and Franklin combo, and I can't really disagree with you there.  Except that Chapman was fairly solid all of last year, I didn't have Franklin though.

If they can't remain consistent and reliable throughout NAB one of them will have to go.

I'd add Knights, Sylvia and potentially Krakour into the unpredicatalbe basket also.

Not to say that you shouldn't have them, but all of them in the one team is likely to very unpredicatable.

8-6 Suited
