Sooo I have no idea where Charman is at in terms of fitness/injury and likelihood of being Brisbanes no.1 ruck or sub. For 97k I would love to have him as fourth ruck. Help a brother out, whats his story?

hasnt played diddley in 2 years... Luey Clarke 1 and 2 id pass

My school of thought is that Mitch Clark will play permanently as a forward, rotating through the ruck with Charman, who is probably a more complete player/capable foward than Luenburger, who would occupy the sub spot. My main concern is Charmans fitness, is he injured?

Still not fit from what I've heard can't remember where I read it but it was only this morning... Clark may play fwd but he'll rotate in the ruck as well with Luey. Charman is gone...

Charman until getting injured 2 years in a row had been touted to be another tall forward option. He is now 2 years older obviously and may not be quite in the plans, although I can see him getting games.

We've held onto him for 2 injury prone years, Vossy delists like a madman when he can, therefore if Charman wasn't going to get games I dare say he'd be gone. He was a champion prior to his injuries and the best ruckman in our team by a country mile back then I'd say the rucking of Charman 3 years ago (2008) was better than the rucking of Clark and Luey in the past 2 years ago.
He is fairly versatile for a ruck and like I said was mentioned as a forward option and a little bit of silly talk as a backman, too many talls with Clark, Luey and Charman? Maybe... but don't count him out, he's versatile for a ruck and is a great player.

The problem is he's not over those injuries...

We kept him for depth if there is an injury to clarke of Leuy

He has kicked 56 goals in 132 games...

If he is fit, I would not be overly surprised to see him playing as a 2nd option instead of Fev, if Fev doesn't play

Cornelius etc. I know... But We've used him at CHF and FF in one or two games in one game he even kicked a bag of 5 or 6 goals.

I think if he's fit, he'll play.

I recall a radio interview with Vossy last year and he was asked if Charman would get a game given the Clarke/Luey thing. Vossy was glowing of Charman saying he would find it hard not to pick him if fit.
Granted that was nearly a year ago now and I'm still not clear on his fitness state but for a 4th ruck Charman seems a reasonable selection to me and better than most $97k alternatives - close monitor status for me.
