QuoteCould be another roller coaster ride tho with his scores.
No doubt and when you have players like that you are better off picking them up during the year when they have enevitabley dropped in price due to inconsitency.

but is there any consistent defenders around that price range anyway? the only consistent defenders i see are goddard, deledio, broughton and gibbs. The rest are really up and down imo.

Usman

there is 4 premiums maybe fill the rest of your backline spots with players that should rise in value rather than just fluctuate. then you can get shaw later if you want him when he has dropped in value after being tagged a few weeks in a row

i have goddard, deledio broughton but im not sold on gibbs this year and then seeing he has a bye in the finals put me off even more. But i get the feeling shaw will/can turn it on this year along with duffield. But i guess no one knows until the season starts so i think waiting until the nab cup is the way to go!

This is as good advice as you're likely to get!

steven_ora

is it ok to have broughton and duffield in the same backline??

could have a point there, but who are the cheapies apart from otten?

Usman

I like Hurley reads the play VERY well for a young bloke takes a very strong mark and is only going to get better. then there are rookies galore that will get games heppell should play alotthen there is Faulks mature age (Fre) Watson (Carl)who marks reads the play well spoils and tackles well aswell as picking up lots of the ball for a key position defender, he also uses it well when he gets it Duigan (Carl) mature age Coad (GC) who avg'd  108 at Vfl level last year Toy (GC) who avg'd 82 at vfl level last year.

Of those you mentioned i reckon that:

- Hurley is not ready to make a good supercoach player yet.  Won't make my side.
- Heard an inside training report that Faulks was given a bath by Matty Pavlich at an intraclub match and didn't go near the ball.. Shhhhhhhh
- Watson could get games but won't score much more than about 60.
- Duigan could be a solid benchman, but I wouldn't want him starting either.
- Coad and Toy would probably be OK to start though.

im pretty sure i would much rather shaw over hurley and watson and faulks will be in and out of the team all year.

i already have otten, duigan, coad, toy and heppel

my question now is shaw or duffield?

Usman

Ye Hurley is a risk. but he will only get better, cant really go wrong.

but if you dont like him flip a coin between duffield and shaw there pretty similar sort of players and scorers they shouldnt let you down overall, they will just frustrate you with a 120 one week and a 50 the next

steven_ora

if they were gunna score me 120 then 50 i probably wouldnt take them but i get the feeling one or both of them will average over 100 and be a consistent peformer this season

Boomz

Hurley is likely to be playing permanently up forward next season (played there in the intra club & hirdy likes him better there) so I think he will lift his average but I'm not sure he'll lift it enough to make him a good pick...

Duffield over Shaw ANY day for mine.

Shaw.

Whenever i am undecided between two players I do the following:

A) Who is the better player?

If undecided again, try this:

B) Who plays for the better team?

You should be able to find a way.

Stay premium gentlemen.

^^^^^ probably the best advice i have gotten. that or flip a coin :p
