Fwd/Def Option

Boys, I have Talia def/fwd in the backline.

Do I have:

A: Gilbert def/fwd
B: Grundy def/fwd
C: Neither cause it's not needed go with a normal fwd who will score better

I went Gilbert to pair with Talia. Ross Lyon has signalled that he will be playing a role up forward which I think will improve his performance.

I got Gilbert in this morning for this exact reason. Good depth for our youths so we should really have 5-6 playing rookies (especially come round 4) to choose from, hopefully we won't lose too many points there.

MPP will no doubt be a lot more valuable this season with the byes, I have at least a pair for fwd/def, mid/def & mid/fwd. No need for ruck, or, I don't want Tippett :P

I was liking Gilbert but think he has had too much go on this pre-season. I may pick him up after the Saints bye in round 4.

I love Grundy as a Swans supporter but think at the end of the day as a 6th or 7th forward/defender he won't be in the top 10 in either of those positions. So there will be better scorers to consider.

Arguably he has much more go on during last season than in the pre-season and he still played very well without any noticeable impact from the external personal issues.

True, but he was never publicly blamed in the media (for impregnating a minor). Also, with the photo scandal and the fact that he emailed her the photos lying to the club... and now the public urination accusation. If he is found guilty of that they would have to suspend him for at least the same amount of time as the other players.

but, i would pick neither. i have loaded my team with B/C and F/C, with no R/F or F/B purely coz i think there isnt a need for it. if gilbert/grundy fits, then take them, but not just coz of F/B.

agree 100% no point losing weekly points for the slight possibility that u will need to use your f/b MPP, should have enough cover with c/b and c/f
