Are any of these players particularly good or bad picks?

I've been thinking that midpricers from the teams that do not have byes in the first six rounds this year are good picks, as they can be upgraded or downgraded before their first bye. I fully understand why people tend to avoid players in the $200k-$350k price range (in fact, up until now I have been advising people not to pick any players in that range that don't have discounts), but because of the byes and substitutes this year there could be more value in that range. Players in the backs and forwards that I have considered are listed below, please tell me if you think any of them are particularly good or bad picks for this year and why:

BACKS:

Chris Newman
Andrew Carrazzo
Heath Shaw
Jordan Russell
Troy Chaplin
Chad Cornes
Bret Thornton
Paul Bower

FORWARDS:

Brent Macaffer
Mitch Morton
David Zaharakis
Eddie Betts
Jeff Garlett
Angus Monfries
Chris Yarran

In your backs, your missing one player that should go off this year.

Brad Symes $354 K

Backs - all bad except Newman who is borderline.
Forwards - only one I'd have is Zaharakis, think he will shine this year, look at him more as a midfielder/forward.

This but I wouldn't consider Newman and I'd consider Morton instead

carrazzo WAS a jet until ratten found out he could tag :(
newman is, yes, borderline

morton may continue his late season form from last year and i think zaharakis could move into the middle :)

I would think of Symes as a premium, because he's definitely a keeper. He definitely has upside this year after all the retirements and transfers of Adelaide backs and midfielders last year, but I'm not considering him because he is too injury prone.

I still don't really want to pick Morton - too many question marks over his role in the team (especially with the addition of Grigg, Houli and Conca to Richmond's midfield) and injuries. I personally think Macaffer is a better pick than Morton.

Bower is definitely worth considering. Real good chance to get a full season under his belt, one of my smokies.

Brad Symes is more poisonous than a Cane Toad, one lick and you're believing he's Superman.
Stay away from the Brad, poor decision maker and also Newman can get put put on the pile of never be's as he only plays well when Richmond plays well = Never (well not very often)  :P
