Shaun Atley? Better option than Mzungu, Swallow, Gaff, Harris or Hibberd?

He is a medium sized midfielder who played for the Murray Bush rangers.

He is an in and under type player.

Achievements:

2010 Vic Country Team
2010 All Australian Selection
2010 Draft Camp Invite
2010 TAC Cup Team of the Year
2010 Murray Bushrangers Captain

Averaged 6 tackles and 19 possies a game

VERY FAST

Really bad kick, SC no-no.

P.S: If he plays, he'd probably play a rebounding half back role like Heath Shaw.

Boomz

Think thats slightly harsh... he's not a really bad kick it's consistency that's the issue.

He's probably a better option than Hibberd except for the fact Hibberd is MPP & most likely ur only link to the backline?

Just had a thought, a real smokey is Pat Contin of Richmond for your Mids.

Coming along in leaps and bounds.

Also, first game in a 2010 exhibition match against the.....Pies? Not sure, anyway he got 110 dream teams points, the most of any tiger.

But I will be looking closely at him. With that said he, may not get a game at all.

Boomer Harvey, in a herald-sun interview last week, gave both Atley and rookie forward Kieran Harper a tremendous endorsement.  Said they would both be significant additions to the side.  You came away believing that both would play early and regularly.

Cheers lads, ive heard his a poor kick but obviously this wont affect DT. Apparently in line to play from round 1 and keep playing form what ive heard. Just wanted ot hear other thoughts. Seems like a good player, thanks for the stats windigo you beast. Have to wait and see the NAB, Hibberd is my only DPP with my backs so think I might leave him for now, have 3 DPPs in back that can switch with him.

If you want someone to score well for you who is a bad kick then choose Rhys Palmer  :P

Atley = Ineffective kick, 6 tackles and 19 possies average opens the door for him to learn his trade as a tagger. Maybe even allowing Levi Greenwood more run on play than run with play.

elephants

i thought it was harsh to relate him to heath shaw ??

Cruiseon

He is quite like a young Martin Crow or Jon Howarth, if you like that type of player.

He opens well but is still a Wolf in Sheeps clothing?

browny_wce

read an article in the paper today saying that Norths coaching staff love Atley's speed and tackle pressure, said hes a good chance to pay double digit games

browny_wce

the fact that hes been likened to Chris Judd raises eyebrows

dylsta05

yeah his going to be emg in my side as the looks of it, NAB is around the corner are willing to wait, good things happen to people who wait

Contin had good NAB scores last year but didnt break into the 22 he ended up splitting games between the reserves 10 each was named best in the reserves in 5 of the 10 but only once of the 10 at VFL level... i guess he is a downhill skier  bcos his scores r decent but cant get a game :-\
