Alright, I have $368,700 and am looking at getting either a 4th or 5th backman.

Back line looks like this:

Goddard, Deledio, Duffield, Malceski, ________, Otten, Hibberd - Toy, Duigan, Puopolo

At this stage my ones I am looking at are Harbrow, Waters (if he is fine after his knee injury), Johncock, Fisher, Gilbee, Grimes, Shaw, Bock or Hargrave (might do alright without Harbrow there).

Thanks in advance for your help :)

wouldnt go shaw cause he is way tooooooooo inconsistent.. bock unproven and probs play key position. i reckon grimes is ur best bet driving off the melb backline. racks it up!!

ENYGMA

What do we think of Gram? only 349.7

grimes is very injury prone, he would be in my team if he wasn't for sure, especially with their bye situation.

Gram is another option, but again, misses a lot of games, I want someone who will play at least 20 games in the season!

Johncock.

Though I'd be a little concerned about having Hibberd on the field, he might not even get a game first up yet

oops, Hibberd should be Heppell, stupid Bombers players both starting with H. Hibberd is on my mids bench.

Will Johncock stay fit enough to play 22ish games?

I'd view Fisher as a reliable pick from that list. Beau Waters is a machine and will play on one leg if required (though this may effect his scores) so he's an equally good pick. Both are priced at full value however and I'm a fan of getting a bit of upside in that 5th spot.

Johncock's fitness will not be an issue, it will be his focus that remains in question. A failed business investment and late night off field indiscretions has him working harder than ever to regain trust around the club.

Are there any value picks you recommend? Maybe Adcock at $262,500? Or Callum Wilson at $220,000. Wilson actually looks pretty good at that price, especially if he gets games. Adcock will be getting games, especially if he stays injury free.

Windigo

Adcock if fit could easily average 85+ like he did in 2009, and will go up in price for sure.

If your looking for an Adelaide back, out of Johncock or Symes. I'd pick Symes all the way. He could really excel if he can string some games together.  :P

I solved this problem, went Talia to Callinan up front and then got Rawlings up back. Backline now looks like this:

Goddard, Rawlings, Deledio, Duffield, Malceski, Otten, Heppell - Toy, Duigan, Puopolo

Thoughts?

I'm looking at the same position (for a 5th def) atm as I'm going through another cold patch with Jed Adcock and one player that Im surprised hasn't been considered more is JARROD HARBROW. I had him last year and he was pretty darn consistent (87 average), especially towards the end part of the year until he got injured/fell out of favour with the coach for diverting i guess.

-I think he could be a really good, unique pick this yr as you'd expect the GC defensive lines to be under the pump regularly. Also, you've gotta love the class of the guy and his 'shimmy shimmy'  8)
