is he a good pick at that price or are there better choices?

tferrier18

If Boak was fit I'd prefer him...but he isn't

SydneyRox

the last 6 weeks of last year say yes.....

His role changed from tagger to full on midfield, he should continue that, but might also cop a tag so will be great to watch, super little player, cant see him going backwards

Agree that he's a super player, but I CAN see him going backwards ... nothing his fault, but you have lost Brett Kirk (your primary tagger) and used the injured ROK as a tagger late last year ... if ROK has recovered, and with the loss of Kirk, can we be CERTAIN Jack won't become a tagger again (a good one, ala Sewell but still ...)

SydneyRox

Nick Smith is the number one tagger for the swans.
Love him, but Kirk was lucky to play the last few games when Jack was cutting up the midfield.
I think Horse will let him run, we need a good in and under guy to help out Bolton, but Jack can also run.
NAB will tell the story a little bit.
I have ROK in my team instead just to finish :) reckon he is in for a blinder

Yep - fair enough ... you also had a midfielder who didn't play very much this year ... a nuggety fellow who looked as good as Jack in the past ... damn !  Just off to check the Swans list i've forgotten his name ... Ah, Frig !!  Craig Bird - he might also help the "tagging" duties this year (considering he looked like an out and out star to me the year before last) !!

Interesting about ROK!! I am thinking about him now

Alex7089

I'm all over him I wanted him in the finals of last year.
I think he will take it to the next level this year, in fact, he started a bit early , finishing last yer with a bang. Hopefully Smith will take the tagging duties because this guy could be extremely damaging if he gets let loose.

You must mean Jack here and not ROK ?

Alex7089

Yeah I'm talking about Jack.
Not on ROK yet, an upgrade target for me, most likely from Petrie at some stage although you never know :P

THIS ^ great minds think a like :P

Definitely looking at him it's just a matter of fitting him in for me atm.

Alex7089

It was easy for me to fit him in >> He was the first mid I picked :P
I knew wanted him and I didn't want to back down now, I have a bad feeling this guy will be my next Higgins, I'll start picking him no matter what :P

bowyanger

I short listed him. definately in the age bracket for improvement / peak abiltiy...its just the swans style of play that puts me off..whats horse going to do with tactics? Roos is still in the background...swans brand isnt high scoring in the past besides goodes and Rok...I have been seriously considering Grundy though
