Quote"Clubs will need to officially name their substitute - who will wear a green vest while on the bench - when the final teams are lodged 90 minutes before the bounce."

This means we won't know who the subs are!

Fletch74

This was what we thought would be the case anyway...

Will be interesting to see what happens. I'm sure as the season wears on we'll work out a pattern as to who is likely to be the subs on the days.

My guess is don't go for Fringe players, or Pinch Hit players!!

It basically means instead of betting that 4 of the 7 people on an extended bench are playing, you're betting on 3 of the 7 playing. :(

Boomz

I really hate this rule in general and it terms of SC & DT :(

+1 it wont even make that much difference in teams of interchange use

tferrier18

It's a shocking rule. It's not going to stop injuries at all.

TOM15

How are we goning to know which rookies to play  >:(

dylsta05

going to have to see team then make a guess  :-\

tferrier18

Well, rookies won't be used as the substitute...but they might be substituted.

TOM15

thats going to be really annoying as well if players get subbstituted halfway through a game  :-\

ahhhhhhhhh why they did bring this rule in its wrecked dt/sc a bit haha it actually hasnt it made it intresting

tferrier18

Yeah definitely, but i think its safe to assume a player won't be subbed unless they're injured...which won't be any different to them sitting out the rest of a game if they got injured last year.

Although you'd be pretty annoyed if one of your players was subbed for any other reason.

PiesSuck

This will be interesting for the first few weeks to see how the teams use it. So just don't pick borderline players that may be the sub.

hawk_88

Who gets subbed will be a pain - but that was always going to be a pain.

I think this system is actually best for fantasy - I imagined a system where they would name a bench of 4 and the sub would be selected from that on gameday - at least we have a better indication of who is actually starting with this system.

at least everyone is in the same boat, so the problems you're having with this rule, everyone should be having the same ...  ;)
