midfield consists of 5 players, theres 2 spare in case of injury, and get real, when will guys of that class have a run of poor form  ::) :P ;D

Hawka

Im sure ball had form lapse back at st kilda and got dropped
Lewis from the hawks was very close to bein dropped at 1 point

both were top 3 or 4 middies in there clubs

When it comes down to it though, it isn't your best players, it is your worst.

The pace with which the game is played these days, especially with high midfield rotations, you need to be able to back everyone all of the time which is why Geelong have been so good for so long and why Collingwood did so well last year.

They had depth and good players not getting games. They had a good gameplan that everyone followed. It is also why the Hawks were successful in 08, they were well drilled. Coaching is just as important as anything else - and it isn't just the head coach, but every assistant coach given the amount of micromanagement that is required these days.

I think it has been a failure in coaching structures as well as an inconsistent bottom 6-8 of the 22 that has held back both Hawthorn and St Kilda from what they can achieve over the past few years.

I think St Kilda's top 12 players are far stronger than Collingwood's. Didn't win them the match though did it...

well my point is our team is better then the enemy's team, they played at their potential, we played below it, as we have done every year for the past 7  >:(

The Saints seem to forget they dont really have a ruckman anymore. And before anyone mentions Kozi, let's all be clear. St.Kilda will never win a flag with him in their side. It has been written.

As for Carlton, that poor team structure and arguably the worst coach (apologies Vossy) and with the same success in finals as Richmond & Melbourne over the last decade, the only flag they'll be seeing is the one unfurled in round 3.

For me the threats are Hawthorn & Geelong probably in that order.

we almost won it last year with the same rucks we have now, i see no issue?

Gardiner is on his last legs, almost retired..... Again.

Also Lyon's lack of desire to blood young players hurts more every year & instead they get stuck with below par players from other clubs like Peake, Schnider, Dawson & Raye and you can now add Dean Polo. I just can't see these players being in a Premiership team.
