hold on what does it mean...
r they assigned to WAFL clubs now? what for?

valkorum

Because there is only 2 clubs in WA we cant have just one club as our affiliate club (Hawks have Boxhill etc).  So the players get allocated to a WAFL club.  That means that if they are not playing for Fremantle then they will play for the selected WAFL club.

There is a priority system in that clubs who finish last get the first picks of available AFL players.

could also generally to keep in mind that Melb affiliate VFL clubs sometimes mirror AFL club playing styles?? - does that happen??

whereas WAFL clubs because they'll only have a handful of Freo or West Coasters, may not play them the way the AFL clubs might want them to??

valkorum

The AFL clubs give directions to the WAFL clubs on how they want their players to be played.  Zac Clarke spent big periods of time up forward last year on direction from Fremantle.

weren't the Eagles complaining last year about West Perth not playing Quinten Lynch the way they wanted??

valkorum

I didnt hear anything about that - but I think the Eagles should be looking at how the play the big Q-Stick.  I think they have been playing him wrong for a few years now.

Cicjose

i heard something last year because he was playing forward for West Coast and West Perth were playing him on ball

West Coast have been playing him on ball for the last few years.  I think his days are numbered and wont get many games this year.  Great kick but no football brain - I have been saying that for years.  back on to Fremantle now please :)

Cicjose

so the guys recruited from WA by the WA clubs will play for the club they did last year right?

eg: Mzungu for Perth

Yep they dont change unless a change has been agreed by both WAFL clubs and the AFL club.
