ANy first team ever is gonna be better than the average teams if you use fanfooty/DT Talk. Rucks drag this team down heaps, as I explained later on. 61/100 until you fix those rucks.

Defence- Grimes may push it too far down back with 5 premiums, reserves good.
Midfield- Murph is in my mates team for a 'unique', but I'd prefer Judd as he is captain and therfore 0% risk. And I prefer Shuey to Gaff but whatever. Burgoyne also risky I don't know much about him.

Ruck- Shocking. Firstly, downgrade Grimes to a Otten/Jacobs. Then, downgrade Burgoyne to Swallow (a must-have). Use most of that money to upgrade Warnock to Sandi/Cox/Jolly. Then Put Petrie in the forward line, cutting Jack Riewoldt (I had him last year- nightmare), which'll earn cash. Then, you'll have 3 rucks. If my equation is correct, you should have enough money for a premium. Do something like that is what I'd reccomend. First year coaches often think rucks are not as important, well they are. David Hille scored 157 last year, against the Saints.

Forwards- 4 Premiums are good, but Jack Riewoldt is a nightmare. I had him for most of last year- mostly 50's and 60's, his average brought up by a 160 and a couple of 100's. Rest is good.

This team is much better than 61/100.
Rucks aren't even that bad - Warnock is be Carltons #1 ruckman. I'm not saying he is a good pick but not the worst pick. and I don't see why he need's to put Petrie in the forwards.
Don't see how Judd being Captain would affect his score and how he is a 0% risk? Murphy is a good pick, although their are better picks, but I don't think judd is one of those.
I agree Burgoyne is too risky.
I don't like McLean either.
It's not a great team but fro his first attempt, you were rather harsh.

I'd rate a solid 7.5/10 mate.

I agree with Jukes' comments about your rucks but i see no problem leaving Petrie there. Warnock - I had him last year and he did nothing, I can't see why this season would be any different to that - you could risk it but you may have to burn a trade which you could better use otherwise.

your backline is ridculously strong, not a bad thing but weakens your other lines. as Jukes said, might be an idea to downgrade Grimes (or Duffman if you'd prefer).

mids - they're not bad picks in themselves, but i think structure-wise it is difficult to have both Burgoyne and McLean (also I'm not sure that McLean will be that cheap in the end) - again your spending a hefty amount of cash in your midfield and potentially missing all that rookie cash-cow goodness that could be had - you might want to change Burgoyne to D Swallow??

Jukes comments on J Riewoldt are interesting but up to you ...

good luck!

75/100. Risky mids but are unique and have a solid chance of paying off coz all are quality players and more than capable dt scorers. Dont like warnock. Upgrade grimes to otten or jacobs and use remaining cash to upgrade warnock to a premium and maybe upgrade jack.r or pettard in the fwds. Very good effort tho mate :)

like the uniques in this team, remember if you listen to everyones advice most teams through here will look the same!!

however, i agree with the thoughts on warnock, burgoyne(more of a sc type) and riewoldt. also, silly not having swallow.

warnock - sandi
riewoldt- krak
burgoyne - swallow
