Both ;D

yea but were not asking on opinions for your own team; we're trying to help LTD.. so for his sake who would you go for. only one..

Tough choice.

There's been a lot of Heppell hype - AND he doesn't have a bye till Round 10, at which point you can cash him. Although...Jacobs doesn't have a bye till Rnd 12 too.

I would go Heppell, unless that $40k difference can be put to better use elsewhere, like upgrading a midium pricer to a Premium.

There was a scheduled internal trial at Alberton I was going to go to but Adelaide's next week of extreme heat means that both Port and Crows internal matches are going to be severly modified.
It will be difficult to gauge Jacobs impact from this half format as it will be hard to take stock of NAB structures early on.

Jacobs ATM.  ;)

If Jacobs lives up to his hype, he will be one of the must have rookies. With such high regard for both players, i've done some tweaking and have come up with a possible solution.

I currently have Jacobs as my 8th back (first reserve) with Hibberd (C/B) on my midfield bench. My plan is for Jacobs to be my primary emergency for both my midfield and my backs, covering for anyone who has the bye in either of those lines through MPP.

I, for one, think that nearly 140k is too much to be spending on bench players, but that jogged my memory to a post a while back about quality bench cover. The post covered the point that the first reserve on every line will spend a lot of time on the ground this year because of the bye structure.

Although Jacobs is essentially starting on my bench, he will be covering for Swallow (R1), Otten (R2) etc. and will get a lot of on field time if he scores well. This strategy also means that if he is scoring higher than swallow/heppell etc.  right from the start then i've got the option to play him permanently on field.

What are everyone's thoughts on this?

I too believe this thats why i have Issac Smith currently as my 1st Mid bench, Jacobs as my 1st def bench and Jack Darling as my 1st bench FWD he isnt really a high cost player but has the potential to be

I'm leaning towards having a more expensive rookie in each line as long as they look likely to play
