Hamish Hartlett? $196,800, what do ya reckon?

McRooster

Are you serious?

Give anyone considering him an uppercut  :P

hardnut

nope - would want to see him run a season (or even half a season) before considering him. Just grab a 1st round pick at that price.

eggzmen

ahah whats wrong with him? played 4 games last year and averaged 79.

eggzmen

yeah, probably a not bad idea.

what considering the uppercut. HP's favorite (1 of) from last season. very unfortunate & very soft tissue injuries are constant

dylsta05

yeaah may as well give him a pass.

Flemo

His brother Adam's career never took off because of very similar soft tissue injuries.

Adam was on the Carlton list a long time because of his potential but never did have any season where he played most the games.

As a Port Adelaide supporter I fear Hamish is heading down the same track.

i think this is correct!

Milton

It would be a shame if injuries cruelled his career because he's a VERY talented footballer

eggzmen

thanks boys, if he doesnt go through any injuries from now till round 1 and does well  in the nab cup i might squeeze him in. i can see him playing well if he doesnt get any injuries, his got a high potential seeming as he was pick #4 in 2008 national draft.

Confirmed on radio this afternoon by Peter Rohde, says he will miss at least three weeks. He went on to say it wasn't looking good for the kid with his history of quad and hamstring tissue injuries.

valkorum

That's the problem - he only played 4 games

Cruel hamstring blow for Port Adelaide's Hamish Hartlett
Source: Herald Sun dated 24 Jan 2011

PROMISING Port Adelaide midfielder Hamish Hartlett's pre-season has again been derailed by a hamstring injury.
Hartlett, rated a potential star, was restricted to just four games last year by hamstring injuries which initially flared last pre-season.

The 20-year-old strained his right hamstring at training today, a club spokesman said.

Hartlett will have scans but is expected to miss the next three weeks of training.

The classy onballer has suffered a series of soft tissue leg injuries since being recruited with Port's No.4 pick in the 2008 national draft, managing just 15 games for the club.

The news has soured reports David Rodan is set to make another remarkable comeback and play against Collingwood in Round 1 after a second LARS knee operation.

The Port Adelaide midfielder needed a second round of knee surgery after the artificial ligament used in his original operation failed in November.

- left out bits on David Rodan, J Surjan and T Boak ... will post in Port AFL thread ...
