To trade or not to trade

No doubt there are plenty of Coaches out there who have opted not to trade in the first 3-4 weeks. Plenty who have thought to put their injured players on the bench and played rookies eg Raines

Of course as injuries accumulate, people use up their second rookie hoping that next week promise a renewed selection utopia and/or recovery of their benched players.

As injuries mount and key omissions, the feel around Fanfooty site seems that many are going to see "donuts" in their 22 with no emergencies scoring.

So for those who traded in the first 5 weeks - was it a good idea given what's happening now?

And those who still have their 18 or 20 trades - how fair you in the next few weeks?

Of course those if you run out trades by Rd 15 and injuries occur....you are stuffed for the rest of the season

Maq - I think its defintitely a fine balance of the 2.

Eg - I opted to keep Raines on the bench, and have had to put up with Hill and Petrenko playing (due to P.Burgoyne being out)....will I be better for not trading Raines - in the long run, I believe yes - however a lot of people may argue the downgrade to Rance would have been more succesful.

I have traded Skipworth this week however as I feel his upside is limited, and dont have the cash for a premium yet.

Its all about how to maximise your trades, and treating them with the respect they deserve. I think by this stage you dont want to have used too many more than 2 or 3 trades
