This is my first go for the year. Many things will change as news comes out on form and playability.

DEF: B. Goddard, B. Gibbs, B. Deledio, M. Hurley, S. Selwood, A. Otten, B. Jacobs (M. Watson, M. Coad, R. Lester)
MID: S. Pendlebury, K. Jack, P. Dangerfield, N. Foley, D. Swallow, A. Gaff (D. Heppell, S. Atley, T. Mzungu)
RUC: P. Ryder, D. Jolly (D. Petrie, S. Day)
FWD: P. Chapman, N. Riewoldt, A. Didak, R. O'Keefe, K. Tippett, J. Watts, D. Prestia (J. Darling, B. Matera, B. Retzlaff)
CASH LEFT: $4,400

Always some issues early on like Hurley will he get big enough scores, Tippet will he burn me again this year, Is Watts gonna show why he was No.1 Draft pick this year. How many GC Suns is too many? Is It too much money In the rucks, Which rookies wll be in the running for early upgrades and which ones will turn into likely keepers. Many questions but might keep this one open until I set my team in Feb.

Backs - hurley and selwood NOPE -1

Mids, very very weak, heppell a wast of money on bench, -2

Rucks - are you joking, petrie on the bench  :S and day :S  thats a mega waste of money. -2

Fowards - tippett and watts, NOPE -1

4/10, try again

Must admit I got a bit disheartened when I saw Goddard, Gibbs and Deledio as the first three names! But from then on it got interesting1

Hurley! S Selwood! Danger! Ryder! Jolly! Dids! Rok! Tippett! Watts!

Some originality in that, much love.

Having said that, your back-line does look a bit weak, and centre line a little exposed also. Love the unique ruck combo, and love the forward line.

Nice

Well if you are going for a unique team this year you have deffinatley got one, but maybe it's a little too unique,

maybe fix up the midfield and mid-pricers and it will turn into a solid team

5.5/10

At the moment my plan is to shop around the ideas about more unique players that could have break out years, aka K.Jack, Dangerfield, Watts.
Guys that are entering that elusive 3rd year.

I reckon reading about the new structure this year will make mid priced MP Players alot more valuable to take up the byes even if they only average 80 odd by seasons end.

Also there are the tried and tested players like Goddard, Ablett, Swan, Hodge that will be in 90% of teams and most teams then miss out on possible keepers like Malceski.

As trades are gold minimizing trades in at least one area is my aim with ruck and forward being that area for me.

But This team will be pretty fluid for the next two months.

With my watchlist about 200 players deep at the moment there so many combos that its already doing my head in.

Aleady changed it with Harry O' in for Hurley and Watson for Shepheard.

im pretty sure k. jack already has his break out year.. he won the b&f this year.. :P
and i dont think having harry'o is better than hurley.. but thats just me.. maybe downgrade your benches in mid and ruck to upgrade ur team..

mophead222

i guess it could work out to your advantage, but you would have to be very lucky, and most likely you will be stuck with a bunch of crap mid pricers who avg 65-75 and wernt worth having at all and it ruins your whole year, (e.g. me 2 years ago)

Gooner

Too many risky players, not enough premiums.

It's a unique team and there are some good players there, but it relies on a lot of midpricers to have break out years in order to generate the cash to upgrade to premiums or to become premiums themselves.

Total Tiger

I really like the midfield depth with great options on the bench.

Barlow 21

Nice team but Jack Watts will not score well. He is a KPP player and will not average above 75.

So here's another hour i wont get back. Some re-arranging on some premiums positions.

DEF: B. Gibbs, B. Deledio, J. Grimes, M. Hurley, S. Selwood, A. Otten, D. Heppell (B. Jacobs, M. Coad, H. Shepheard)
MID: B. Goddard, S. Pendlebury, M. Pavlich, P. Dangerfield, L. Shuey, D. Swallow (A. Gaff, S. Atley, A. Krakouer)
RUC: A. Sandilands, N. Naitanui (M. Blake, D. Petrie)
FWD: N. Riewoldt, L. Franklin, R. O'Keefe, M. Morton, J. Watts, C. Knights, J. Darling (B. Matera, L. Tapscott, M. Daw)
CASH LEFT: $7,600

Just some thoughts guys, this year is gonna have more strategy than other years with MPP's covering byes and when upgrades are planned. Also If its a league win you probably don't want any premiums from teams with byes in last 3 rounds, and that might be the same for total standings. Imagine you were in the top ten with a chance at glory yet your team had Gibbs and Judd in the final round getting donuts.

Having a look at some succesful teams over the last 2 years there is some things I've noticed.
1. Premiums are gold, but not if they are injury proned....  (See Drummond)
2. Trades are also Gold. Up is a direction, Sideways is not..
3. Research, Research and more Research. Having insiders is great, yet watching training and games and understanding solid talent vs showtime helps..
4.Players form can change and will change.  (see Fev)
5.Make a plan and try to stick to it (eg. have a list of upgrade and downgrade targets)
6.Write lists then hate yourself for doing so...

What's wrong with having those three in your backs, ossie?

mophead has said it all.

Hey gooner how many premiums should I have. esp if I'm trying to max out on the high priced rookies who should get more games than those at 77k

your team has potential my friend. but if thats mark blake on your ruck bench? and petrie what a waste, get bailey and zac smith, two 83,400 players who will play games, save you 400Kish.

also gaff should start, scrap dangers, also jacobs in the backs is good enough to start, lots of money wasted on bench players when there are a lot of cheaper options that will play games,
