he was clearly going for the ball, wasn't like he went in deliberately to do it, like diving!!!!!!!!. and carrick went into it late, not 100% Gerrard's fault. It Didn't help that he went in 2 footed though. And spell discgrace properly as well. lol

1. There was contact on Berbatov, which is why he went down, so not a dive.
2. Gerrard went in studs first with 2 feet both in the air. Doesn't matter if you go for the ball, even if he had gotten the ball that would still be a red card.
