If they paid him out they'd face tough times.
The amount of QLD corporate sponsorship heading toward GC and the tough recent flood damage will mean The Lions may have to keep Fev around due to the likely lack of available future funding to counter his sacking.

Does breach of contract come into force / code of conduct? Maybe a loophole to get away out of paying all / some / etc. Just asking the questions.

Lions are at this stage still holding a full hand so honestly don't know. I reckon the assessment re the rehab will play a Major factor on whether aye or nay. Maybe there is a loophole, I am pretty sure that they will use it as it's not getting any better for the club (publicity) either way. So yep my take.
