Summary
Andrew Welsh is a very good player, a career average of 80 is pretty good, but he is 27, and he'll be 28 in February. So he is getting old, and after an injury riddled 2010 season who knows how much footy he'll play in 2011. He comes at an awkward price, but, he can break games open and score 130+, and with a good pre-season he may be able to return to the form of 05/08. If he could, he would be very good value, if not, he could burn you.

No for me. Flat out, there are to many good options in the midfield to be picking a guy who is still low on confidence from a very unfortunate injury early last year.

In fairness to some of these Essendon blokes, under the Knights regime alot of them probably didn't know if they were coming or going or what the hell was going on half of the time.  It would pay to keep an eye on this guy's pre-season form, I think.
