Summary:

Rising Star nominee Cameron Hitchcock had a very good debut year in 2010. Playing 17 matches and kicking 20.12 is a solid return from a first-year small forward, and looks to have a bright future at Port Adelaide.

Fantasy wise though, he was not the best cash cow. Peaked in Round 12 at $244,800, and although a solid investment, not nearly as profitable as other forwards (though James Podsiadly and Tom Rockliff are hard measuring sticks to compete against). A High Score of 99, and 6 sub-40 scores, saw him average less than 50 and was regulated to emergency for most of the season.

The Crystal Ball:

Based on last year's magic number
Price: $263,700

Based on m0nty's fanplanner
Price: $251,100

Position: FWD

Not as expensive as other 2nd year players can be, and could still prove some value at that price. I'd say he is just below the awkward price range. I think he will improve next year, but will be inconsistent, and his role in a Primus-coached team is unsure at this stage. Power fans have any opinions?

Decision:

I'm more tempted with Hitchcock than I am with other 2nd year players, so I'll upgrade him from unlikely to touch and go. Could be a good unique 7th forward, but is very risky.

roo boys!

Touch and go for me also, I think I will have a three rookie bench and still not certain on my 7th forward, although I highly doubt it will be Hitchy.

Fletch74

Very Unlikely for me. I'll be choosing less riskier cheaper forwards.

Junktimer

so for that price i can get hitchcock or knights, hmmm. no way

SydneyRox

too expensive for what he will probably deliver.... an up and down season.

MTTY

i reckon i'm gonna give Ben Griffiths a run on my bench he is pretty cheap, but only if hes recovered from the shoulder injury

McRooster

His bony frame will take much development and as MTTY points out about his shoulder issues he will take time to strenghten to string enough games together to warrant that sort of price tag.
Although with the retirement of Tredrea, Ebert's knee and the inconsistency of Motlop, he might be a smokie....

If he is important to the Power's forward line I think a truck has hit a power pole=The Power is down ;)
