Is the theme you are going for a league win rather than overall??

Since you are hoping the guns come off thier game early your points will suffer in the first few rounds. And may cost you a lot if they have have average to good starts.

Who would be your lock in captain choice? Pav? Pendles?

Bingo MTTY :D. Can't believe it took so long :P. They aren't the biggest names from their clubs but have more room for improvement in their scoring potential. A little different approach but not an entirely risky one (Midfield mainly).

Pendles, Murphy or Boyd will get the duties if this team as chosen. Pendles and Murphy regulary score over 100 so are pretty safe options ;).

JunkTimer wanted me to put a team up so here is what my current fanplanner team looks like. Mind you, it is far from over :P. And don't mind some out there rookies, it's still all speculation at this stage ;).

Defence: Deledio, Enright, Grimes, Hurn, Otten, Heppell, Richardson (Hibberd, Iles, Mzungu).
Midfield: Murphy, Pendlebury, Boyd, Corey, D. Swallow, Gaff (Smith, Atley, Wallis/Libatore).
Rucks: Sandilands, Ryder (Smith, Gawn/Somebody who'll play).
Forwards: Pavlich, Green, J. Riewoldt, T. Cloke, Higgins, Petrie, Butcher (Dixon, Darling, Hooper).

Bar a few picks (for consistency over years), can you pick a common theme with half of the players?

Feel free to pick it apart as I don't mind.

The Backs are all right though not sure about Grimes' consistency, but prove me wrong if u can...
The Mids look alrite though not sure if Corey is the best idea... And go Wallis over Liber IMO
The Rucks look good. If you've got a good reason for Ryder over Jolly then OK. Assuming that is Z Smith, you could also go for Jenkins/Daw/Mcdonald/M.Bailey/Day
Weak premium Forwards IMO. You would want to try and fit Nick Reiwoldt in there mayb instead of Green, J Roo or Higgins; and most likely T Cloke for Sidebottom. Cloke is horrible most of the time IMO and Sidey is a bit more consistent...

Grimes isn't set in stone. Just a little unique who can improve his game.
Corey is quite underpriced for what he normally pulls out. He provides consistency and should get more of the ball without Ablett there.
I need an Essendon player in and Ryder can take another step up rotating up forward as well ;). Also, Jolly is a bit too inconsistent for me.
I want Dids, Roo or Chappy (maybe 2) in my forwards also. But I stacked them last season and truely backfired with many dropping alot -_-. Cloke is horrible mosst of the time yet he averaged so much ;). What could happen if he learns to kick straight? ;).

HP nice to see your team  :)
Backs look unique and great. if grimes is fit he has to be considered.
Mids. different strategy. joel corey bis risky but hope it pays off. he isnt a bad pick by any means. I like murphy aswell think he will improve.
Rucks are great. forwards are a tad weak. travis cloke to sidebottom IMO.
and higgens is brittle as anything. but i like J.roo. also nice rookies in all lines.

Corey is usually a safe pick and is 100k underpriced. I reckon he could be an absolute steal ;).
Everybody will be going Sidebottom but I'll go Cloke. If he can kick straighter, he's a very very solid pick for SC ;). Higgins is soft as butter but keeps finding a way into my teams :P.

Don't mind it but wouldn't go near Corey he isn't the same player he used to be. Agree about Cloke and have looked at him but I still agree with the others in that Sidebottom will be more consistent. get rid of higgins :P

By the looks of things JT, you know more about SC than me ;).

Grimes, Gilbee, who knows yet. That spot isn't set in stone and will change 100 times before the season starts :P. Also keeps Gilbee on my radar ;).

As much as I like Rioli, I prefer Goodes/Green ahead of him. He's hyped up so much can he live up to all those expectations? If he does some fitness training over the pre season could possibly find a place in as it means he might be playing more midfield.
