Brian Lara's making a comeback to cricket. Perhaps Essendon want him too.

Ossie, I heard Tim Henman might end up at the Dons as well.  ;)

Here is a crazy theory, perhaps Hird as a brand new coach should encourage the club to limit the distractions & focus on improving a team who has underperformed for about 5 years.

Does this sound like some jealous Pie supporters who are upset that Eddie and Mick didn't look at this...? :P

On a serious note, doubt he will play, as BP said he only wants to play for the Rabbitoh's.... That deal will get organised eventually.

Master Q

Maybe a good move by Him and his Manager. If there's talk that he's going to sign a contract with a AFL team tomorrow, wouldn't it be obvious what the NRL would do? Try to keep him... Push him to South Sydney.

Eels are in the mix apparently now.

They can't do that without rewriting the rules of the salary cap. Which would be unacceptable cos they are only in this situation in the first place cos a team didn't follow the rules on the salary cap.

The NRL shouldn't have a salary cap. Unlike the AFL, they have different codes and different international leagues poaching them. Is why soccer doesn't have a salary cap.

Master Q

So Ossie, can he move to any team?

Any NRL team? Depends how much salary cap room I think. Though not an expert on thugby league.

AFL team? I guess so. Though probably not Suns or Giants cos they are already spending "publicity" money on Hunt and Folau

Master Q

Meant NRL.

NRL is stupid anyway. TBH, it wouldn't have so much impact on the AFL is he comes, I think it'd be pretty good actually. They'll lose one of there best players.

State of Origin is not competitive at all in NRL  :P

Reckon the Rabbits still awaiting Russell Crow to push / offload 2 > 3 players to fit him in.

SydneyRox

There is no reason for the AFL to bend the rules to get him over. The only reason he is talking to the Bombers now is because he cant get over the line at Souths.

If he came across he would walk out as soon as the last game ended on his contract back to the NRL. He has shown via Melbourne and Brisbane he has no loyalty and is only after the money.

Ps It has taken Hunt months to almost get into shape to play AFL, there is no way Inglis could get fit enough for March

Smart move me thinks by his management to use up the Bombers IMO. A plan that came together.
