Not sold on the backline, with 3 guys coming back from very serious injuries.

Junktimer

yep, thats the risk im taking.  luckily they are economical and thus i can afford the big guns elsewhere.

It was a little like that last year with reduced price backs returning from injuries in Malceski, Waters, Hunt, Ladson, Kennelly etc.

I believe it is better taking a risk on them then picking up a consistent 50-60 ave player for a similar price.

So do I. Even if 1 of them averages 75-80 and the others average 40-50, you're better off.

Well you know the saying. Great minds go for Hawthorn. ;D

oodmutler

I like that saying!

Some figures re a couple of the above mentioned players from 2010.

Malceski: Starting price tag $273k, Peaked at $512k, Closing price $350k (he had a shocker final month) Season Ave: 96.41 pts

J.Hunt: Starting price tag $252k, Peaked at $365k, Closing price $357k, Season Ave: 72.48 pts

B.Waters: Starting price tag $151k, Peaked at $415k, Closing price $392k, Season Ave: 82.14 pts

Food for thought.

I had the last 2 guys in my team. Had the Goose instead of Eski. Poor trading meant I was stuck with Hunt though. :(

Junktimer

oodmutler if those guys can do that I'll be very happy

These 3 players last year cost 676k total, Drummond, Adcock and Otten will cost you 957k. Thats a lot more money and therefore risk, probably expect the same avgs for an extra 300k.

i had them all

Junktimer

if you look at it the other way tom scully, they cost more, but that means they also will probably do better.

Maybe, but Drummond avgs 93, Adcock 83 and Otten 72 in SC, pretty much the same as the three previously mentioned. If all 3 happen to hit their peak season avg, then you're on to a winner.

Big fan of this uniquish team

1.Backs are great and a lot of money can be made off them, Jacobs reminds me of Goddard, in the way he can play D/M/F

2.Good line Pav in there i think will be a good unique if people pay attention to the bye like tferrier has said

3.Good soild rucks cant go wrong with that combo

4.Good forwards my only concern is 2 Collingwood players but they do have MPP so that might cover.

All together one of the better teams i have seen on here 9.5/10
