Adam Selwood

2010 Stats
Games: 16
Total Score: 1466 (Ranked 155th overall, 90th amongst midfielders)
Average Score: 91.63 (Ranked 71st overall, 50th amongst midfielders)
High: 138 (Round 9)
Low: 54 (Round 11)
Standard Deviation: 26.64
Centuries: 6 out of 22
Starting Price: $477,300
High Price: $478,900 (round 4)
Lowest Price: $426,300 (round 15)

Summary:

One of the older twin brothers of the Selwood crew, Adam had a mixed year, he scored 5 centuries in the first 9 rounds to have an average of 99, but then only averaged 83 in the next 7 games that he played for the season due to injuries.

His last 2 season have averaged around the 90 mark for SC, and has only missed 8 games in the last 5 seasons, of which 6 were in 2010.

The Crystal Ball:

Based on last year's magic number
Price: $486,600

Based on m0nty's fanplanner
Price: $463,300

Position: MID

Selwood flies under the radar a little, finishing with only 3,733 selections in SC, but he can be worth a punt, but his price may be a deterrant.

Decision:

The Eagles are re-building and will be under a lot of pressure this year. Priddis and Kerr will have to be at their best to help the Eagles get away from the bottom next season, plus the new addition of Gaff to the midfield will also help.

Selwood could prove to a good unique, but for me he will be unlikely as I can see the Eagles being under pressure this year, but he could perhaps be an upgrade later in the year if he is in form.

Will you try your luck with a different Selwood?

Junktimer

probably not, much more inclined to go with joel.

the fact that he is only a mid and not quite a premium means i will definitely not start with him, but maybe an upgrade target.

great write up btw

He's a very nice unique. If Kerr comes back in, gets some much needed help. Although I'm leaning to Priddis to start with.

I really rate Adam Selwood as a player, and could see him captaining the Eagles.

Shortlisted for that in my never-ending quest to find a decent unique.

Maca24

+1 if he was a bit cheaper i would consider though

SydneyRox

nope. The last time I went to watch an eagles game, he was getting ragged by his own supporters, so if they dont love him I cant either

they are west coast supporters though  :P

If he had better midfielders around him (like his brother does) then I would genuinely consider him. But Priddis and Kerr are both a bit soft and prone to be easily tagged out of games (no coincidence Kerr's form has dropped dramatically since Judd & Cousins left) so I think he is a pass.

Good player but just not for SC.

Justin Bieber

Priddis can actually handle a tag alright. He's not great at it but can do well. He's only been recently getting use to actually get a tag past season or two. And he's learning how to deal with it.

Kerr definately can't though.

Boomz

If he was in a different team yes but at the eagles no way.
