2010 Stats

Games: 22
Total Score: 2064 (Ranked 41st overall, 36th amongst midfielders)
Average Score: 93.82 (Ranked 58th overall, 43rd amongst midfielders)
High: 132 (Round 21)
Low: 30 (Round 15)
Standard Deviation: 28.09
Centuries: 9 out of 22
Starting Price: $523,500
High Price: $532,400 (round 3)
Lowest Price: $361,700 (round 19)

Summary:

The younger brother of Mark, Jarrad sometimes flies under the radar. He finished with only 5,832 coaches trusting in him at the end of the season.

McVeigh was down on his average from the last couple of years where he managed averages of 99.2 and 98.5 respectively.

He managed to get 9 tons this year, not a bad return; however he had a batch between rounds 15 and 18 where he only averaged 58. He then averaged 110 for the last 4 rounds of the season. A little inconsistent....

The Crystal Ball:

Based on last year's magic number
Price: $498,300

Based on m0nty's fanplanner
Price: $474,400

Position: MID

With players like Goodes, ROK, Jack, and Hannebery attracting more attention from coaches, McVeigh may be quite a good unique pick

Decision:

I will shortlist McVeigh for the reason that he is only turning 26 next year, thus he is in the prime of his career.

McVeigh has only missed 4 games in the past 5 seasons, and for that he could be a great Upgrade Target as well.

Will you pick Jarrad McVeigh in 2011?

26 :o that mudgaurd hairstyle is deceptive... definitely keep him in mind

MajorLazer

Could be a unique. Might take him, but unlikely.

Boomz

A chance but he's burnt me before so I'm wary... I thought he was older than that :o

MajorLazer

I think everyone thought he was at least 28-29. I know I did.

Fletch74

I think everyone is confusing him with Mark, he turns 30 next year.

MajorLazer

No just the look of Jarrad is older than the age he is.

Boomz

I remember hearing he was the younger one but I still though he was older lol

SydneyRox

He is defn worth a look, with Kirk gone, Kieren Jack might end up at the bottom of the packs, but this will be the guy leading the midfield.

I really like how he plays :) and players I like are always shortlisted!

SydneyRox

Thats right, being a Sydney player never hurts his chances with me either!

Justin Bieber

I really like him as a Unique. Was close to upgrading to him this season.

I put him as an Upgrade target. I have others ahead of him to start with but if he is having a good year, might hop on if he shows consistency.

Junktimer

always really liked this guy as a player.  cant believe he is only 26.

possible upgrade target.

Samm79

he has certainly walked all the way to 26!

I agree with SydneyRox, I see him taking much more of a leadership role within the Swans midfield with the departure of Captain Kirk. This may lead him to finding an extra gear which will hopefully translate into more SC points.

He could be an option if you need to free up $150K and get a reasonable keeper midfielder. Importantly he plays most games having only missed 4 in 5 seasons, so the likelyhood of a sideways trade for injury is minimal.

It is also hard to see him not improving his average of 93 last year, having averaged almost 100 the two years prior.

I would prefer someone averaging 110-120 but if I am short on cash Jarrad McVeigh will be on the radar.
