Jamie Cripps

Summary:

The Saints first draft selection, a young and light-framed defender, who from all accounts is very versatile and can also be a goal-kicking midfielder. Was in the news recently, after being rushed to hospital after diabetes complications, but this shouldn't be too detrimental to him.

The Crystal Ball:

Based on m0nty's fanplanner

Price: $97,500

Position: DEF

As talented as Cripps sounds, I do not think he will get regular games in 2010. The Saints are an extremely strong team - especially in defence - and it is hard to see him breaking into arguably the best defensive unit in the AFL. Ross Lyon isn't well known for trying out the young kids.

Decision:

An unlikely selection for me. Cheap defenders are always good to find, but they have to actually play. Will still watch in the preseason but as the Saints gear up for yet another genuine shot at a flag, I do not think developing kids will be on their mind this year.

unlikely u woudnt expect him to get many games

has good pace, could replace someone like peake or eddy from the GF side

+1 The Saints are going for that premiership win, he's more in their plans for the 2012 and beyond....

If Peake can play in a GF then anything can happen. If he has the speed then I would expect to see him move ahead of Peake mid season. Could be a nice downgrade.

no way from me. doesnt interest me and a 1st year player for saints  :-\

St. Kilda have a great defence.  and Lyon has a poor record of playing first year boys, very unlikely.
