Our Half Back Line

Harry, Dasha and Tom Lonergan.
They all had good seasons last year. I always had my doubts about Tom, but Bomber seemed to be happy with him.
Dasha Milburn is entering the twilight of his career, but I think he's worth his weight in gold. He's our oldest player I think, but far from a spent force.
This is one line we may be able to improve on. Tom's not as mobile as I would like.
Having said that,  they did nothing wrong last season, so maybe I'm being unfair to him.

Taylor is of course the CHB. Although, when he starts to get dominated, Lonergan comes in for the save (FTW!!). Happened a few times last season and even in the GF (If I can remember).

Lonergan isn't the greatest backman but had to change his position to get games. Got to give credit to him for sticking to it and nailing a spot in the team.

Harry's the only safe one here .. Dasha will still play a part but may miss a few for the younger brigade .. Tom has to pick up a notch .. the pace of the game found him out a few times this year and he made some fundamental blunders/turnovers .. where do you think Mackie will play, wing ? .. Taylor Hunt is a real speedster and an accurate kick so I think he will play a lot of games either here or on the FB line .. these young guys have to get game time .. also Smedts and Guthrie will be blooded a few times during the year and maybe on a HB flank

How embarrassing, I actually forgot about Mackie. They can change one or two players around, Kelly and Bartell sometimes spend time in the back line to. All in all, not much opportunity to break into the side on this line, unless Tom falls out of favor.

Will everybody pleeeeeeeease get off dasha's back. He's got plenty of footy left in him yet. He may be our oldest player, but you don't dump him just for that, and he had a great season last year.

So, it appears our backline is settled. No changes next season except through injury or form slumps. 2 or 3 likely new comers to cover those and thats all she wrote.
It WAS one of our strengths last season, so if we are going to improve enough to overtake Collingwood next season, it will have to come from somewhere else.

Taylor is going to be a very dominate CHB in the next fews years, in my opinion, a lot to look forward to from him. :)
