Josh Hunt, Corey Enright and Matthew Scarlet. Pretty hard to improve on that. They are all getting on in years, but will still be a force next season. They all had a good year last season, and I expect they will continue the good work next season.
Some possible new blood, Marcus Drum, Tom Gillies Taylor Hunt. If the preferred 3 stay fit though, it will be hard for them to break in.

Junktimer

laidler may become a big loss, time will tell

Justin Bieber

It's hard to replace the stones in Enright and especially Scarlett there. WIll be tough no doubt when they play next season.

I think Gillies and Hunt could be good if given opportunities and a chance to gain some more experience at AFL level to prepare them. Drum is probably more for depth and cover. I'm guessing that's why he was brought in?

bunyip

Personally, I think Drum is expected to be more than that. They may be looking at him as a replacement key position player.
I wish we could have kept Laidler, he will be a beauty. the trouble is, if the older players stay fit opportunities are rare.
We are bleeding good young players, but hopefully a few will get an opportunity next season.

i agree, i reckon chris scott has to make some gutsy calls and play some youth over the likes of milburn and co.

God.............I wish everyone will get off poor Dasha's back. What the hell has HE done wrong, except age.
Seriously Junk, Geelongs problems are at the other end of the ground. Dasha won't be our worst player next season. He'll hold up his end.
Scotty will make some hard decisions next season, but i think we'll start off with pretty much the same team.
It's easy to forget we did have a good season last year.
As for our full back line, I think (barring injury) it will stay intact.

Boomz

Simple. he put himself ahead of the team by not retiring.
Ling needs to do soemthing or he will be one of those harsh decisions...

bunyip

That is an incredible statement coming from an Essendon supporter. Lingy WAS down last year, but he will bounce back. Maybe he shouldn't be captain, some players wear it better than others.

I hope Drum can do well after changing from Freo. Was once a pretty good prospect there. Hopefully he can get that back. I want to see Geelong blood youths as well. They can extend their premiership window by playing a mix of young and old to give the younger guys experience and help them keep on going.

Ling is a good captain. May not be the best player but has the Heart :). A Good captain needs Heart to win over the team and pick them up when they're down.

Drum was a top 10 draft pick in 2005 .. actually 10th pick to be exact .. so he was definitely a top prospect .. nothing's gone his way with injuries last year .. surely his luck's due to change and he'll get a fair crack at it .. Cats haven't held onto him for no reason

bunyip

i agree Milton, but as far as our full back line is concerned, if they stay fit, there won't be any changes next season, except for form loss of course.

Cicjose

Drum just couldn't find a role at Fremantle, he will probably turn into another Polak

bunyip

There MAY be an opportunity for him on the half back line. It all depends on form and injuries

im not knocking his ability, but i agree with boomz when he says he should retire.

Young dasher aint doing anybody favours by playing on.  I also think Ling is finished.

By the way, I hope I dont appear that I hate Geelong, i really dont mind the team!

and i dont think its the end of geelong, just a new phase.
