Bale is a left winger....... Lampard is a CM.

Like I said in the previous post, I'd rather have 2 defensive box-to-box players and Fabregas pulling the strings. Midfield would be so hard to break down.

Gerrard and Bale is a close on fantasy wise because of Gerrard taking every thing. Although, he is playing a deeper role this season than under RB so his score is going to hurt because of that. And so, I would take Bale. And the obvious fact of Gerrard being injury prone these days.

My IRL would involve dropping Fletcher and Bale and Adding Drogba and Lamps. More likely a 4-1-3-2 formation.

Andrew3737

4-2-3-1 would be better I would think if you are going to do it that way, because the 4-1-3-2 would be ridiculously unbalanced.

------Fletcher--------Essien-----

Nani-------Lamps--------Rooney
--------------------------------------
--------------Drogba--------------

Something like that yeah?

Master Q

I reckon Gerrard is a better Attacking Mid then Lampard, but if it was CM I'd give it to Lamps. Take out Fletcher, slot in Lampard, put in Gerrard. And I'd take Rooney out for Torres if we're talking about the wing, much better runner and skill.

8-6 Suited

I wouldn't have Rooney on a wing either, he is better when he is more central.

Justin Bieber

Even a 4-2-2-2 could work. Keeps Fletcher and both Rooney and Drogba play up forward. Lamps and Fab will be AMs. Although, this means Nani would get his marching orders as I don't think he could fit into that well.

----Fabregas--------Lampard----

You are underestimating Rooney's ability here a lot. Most of 08-09 in away games he played on the left wing. Fletcher+Essien in the 2 DM spots are a dream come true for any coach. If you do put in Lampard ahead of Fletcher, he will be caught out of position a lot and leaving Essien by himself to win the midfield against counters.

Although if you are just trying to put the best players wherever, I guess you can do w/e

Your formation could work indeed because of how good Cole and Bosingwa are at going forward to supply width. Very nice.

If i have read correctly i am agreeing with andrew that in a 4-4-3 the 3 are not actually all strikers only the centre one, the two wide players are more dfensive and play as wingers i have played in teams where the coach has made the 3 stay as strikers and it makes it really tough on the defence

Master Q

Drogba is only good when he plays with good teams and gets the ball a lot. I think Torres is much better...

Andrew3737

Torres needs a partner to run off. He can't lead the line by himself. Drogba and Rooney can. In single striker formation, Drogba and Rooney> Torres.

Master Q

But in HP's formation he listed 2 Strikers, no Torres.

Torres does work well in a duo but it would be awesome if you had a forward line that read Drogba and Rooney. However, cohesion might not be great :P.

Q reading through your comments about wingers and I have to say that you are completely wrong! Wingers these days are classified as forwards because they spend almost all their time attacking and not defending.

3 Strikers mean that you have a LS, RS, and Centre Striker. 3 Strikers means that the LS and RS play level with the Middle Striker, a Winger means that he plays a bit lower and wider.
Saying that when you have 3 upfront they all play level is again wrong. Look at Chelsea as a perfect example, they play 3 up front in Drogba, Malouda and Anelka. Malouda and Anelka play wider and a little deeper than Drogba who plays through the centre, but Malouda and Drogba are forwards.

No such thing as Forwards in Football, thought you'd know that, you seem like you know a lot about Football.
Um what??? What is Messi then? He is a forward in ever sense of the word. He isn't a striker, but drifts around up forward doing what he pleases.

Seriously Q you are talking rubbish here...
