Ok, team number 3 and this will be my last team before the NAB. This has taken into account the byes (meaning a lack of Carlton and Essendon premiums) and where the different draftees have gone too. All rookies are subject to change as well as a few of the starters but fairly set on them.

Backs: Luke Hodge (C), Brett Deledio (C), James Kelly (C), Greg Broughton, Brady Rawlings (C), Andy Otten

Then the last starting position will come down to the rookies. At the moment I have Ben Jacobs on the field with Michael Coad, Tendai Mzungu and Cameron Richardson on the bench. Other back rookies I may go are:

Dyson Heppell (C), Seb Tape, Billie Smedts, Matthew Watson (unlikely however as KPP), Xavier Clarke (C), Jacob Brennan, Josh Toy, Daniel Talia (F), Jordan Lisle, Sam Iles, Bryce Retzlaff (F) and any other back rookies who play.

Mids: Brendon Goddard (B), Dane Swan (However if Ablett is C/F this will be his spot), Daniel Harris, David Swallow

Then, the last two mid spots as well as my bench will be rookies. At the moment I have Andrew Gaff and Jared Polec on the field with Joshua Green, Tom Liberatore and Myles Sewell on the bench. Other mid rookies I may go are:

Harley Bennell, Reece Conca, Josh Caddy, Dyson Heppell (B), Brodie Smith, Shaun Atley, Jayden Pitt, Mitchell Wallis, Xavier Clarke (B), Mitch Hallahan, Andrew Krakouer, Pat Contin, Dylan McNeil (F) and any other mid rookies who play.

Rucks: Aaron Sandilands, Darren Jolly

I have Zac Smith and Majak Daw (F) on the bench. Other ruck rookies I may go are:

Sam Day (Maybe Forward), Daniel Gorringe, Jamie Charman, Max Bailey, Ayce Cordy and any other ruck rookies who play.

Forwards: Nick Riewoldt, Alan Didak (C), Brad Green (C), Cyril Rioli, Ricky Petterd (C), Drew Petrie (R) (Petterd or Petrie may change into Chris Knights or Michael Hurley depending on pre-season)

Then the last starting position will come down to the rookies. At the moment I have Jed Lamb on the field with Jack Darling, John Butcher and Brandon Matera on the bench. Other back rookies I may go are:

Dion Prestia, Tom Lynch, Lucas Cook, Isaac Smith, Patrick Karnezis, Andrew Hooper, Luke Tapscott, Daniel Talia (B), Charlie Dixon, Bryce Retzlaff (B), Dylan McNeil (C) and any other forward who plays.

I feel this is a really solid team and I can change anyone to whoever really as I have $343,900 in the bank. Any advice wanted.

I like the team but not sure about having Harris and Swallow. I think maybe get rid of Harris to either Chapman or downgrade to a rookie.

Otherwise very nice team.

benjy251090

Thanks, I really like Harris, I think he is Captain, however if Ablett is MPP, one of Harris or Swallow will be up or downgraded.

MajorLazer

If Ablett is MPP, I think you have to keep Swallow.

benjy251090

Maybe, him and Harris are similarly priced and Harris has AFL experience so may be a better scorer than Swallow

MajorLazer

Yer guess so. I guess I haven't seen as much of Harris so he could be better than Swallow.

benjy251090

Averaged 74 in 09 off 10 games, can't find his 08 stats :S

MajorLazer

That's pretty good for an almost rookie priced player.

Only 10 games though. Injury?

benjy251090

I don't know, I think maybe he just fell out of favour which is why he is up at the Gold Coast.

If he averages 74, he will go up up to just under 400K, however if he scores more than 76 over the first 9 weeks up until their second bye I could swap him straight for a fallen premium, I just feel he will do better than Swallow

MajorLazer

Ok it's your team so you ultimately decide who's going to be in it.

Hey,
I like your team but there are a few points about it that I wouldn't have in mine.

- 2 players from the same team in the one line (harris/swallow, you have mpp to cover this so it's not that bad...but still prefer not to be in that situation)
- 5 starting rookies
- weak midfield
- 12 starting premiums (has to be 13 or above)

Good team :)  except I'm not a fan of Harris... He'll be 29 next year & is sure to be slowing down... If I was you I would downgrade him to a rookie because Harris won't turn out to be a premium so you will make more cash out of a rookie.

dont listen to him... harris  could be a really good pick up, mature body... played well this year.. could be better next year

benjy251090

Thanks Tferrier, Harris and Swallow I count as both being rookies, and with the draft being fairly strong this year I feel I can afford to start quite a few rookies, but may change Petterd to a premium as I have heaps of spare cash and I count Petrie as a premium as he just had an injury ridden season

Yeah Boomz, it is as HTM says, I feel he will be good, even if it is just for 100-150K as you never know, he could pull a Barlow as he is a mature body
